Of course this is all just a coincidence and has nothing to do with any marketing favoritism.  :D
In addition to their *road* games being against the Clippers at Staples with far more Flamer Fans present.....
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the L.A. Times
Guess which of the 30 NBA teams will play the fewest sets of back-to-back games this season?
Yep, the Lakers.

According to number-crunching BasketballProspectus.com, the Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks each got stuck with 23 back-to-backs in 2010-11, topping the dreaded B2B list. It's the second straight season the Bulls have led the NBA in this grind-it-out category.

Meanwhile, the Lakers will play the fewest, with 15 sets of back-to-backs.

Does this matter? Yes, given that the Lakers have nine thirtysomethings on their roster (Ron Artest, Matt Barnes, Steve Blake, Kobe Bryant, Derek Fisher, Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom, Theo Ratliff and Luke Walton); this schedule should give them a little breather as they try for a three-peat.

Last season the Lakers played 20 sets of back-to-backs -- their record was 24-16. (After the playoffs start, of course, there are no back-to-backs.)

Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder, with a roster full of young legs, also did well in the 2010-11 scheduling derby, and will play only 17 sets of back-to-back, third-fewest in the league. Among other notable teams, the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics both play 19 parings of back-to-backs.

Not everything, though, is a plus for the Lakers in the scheduling department.

Last season they slept at home a lot to start the season, playing 19 games at home out their first 28 contests (and one ?road game? was against the Clippers). The Lakers went 23-5 in that spell to open a four-game lead in the West.

This season, the Lakers? charter pilots will be busy the first couple months, as the team hits the road for 16 of their first 28 games.

Opening night is Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Staples, against the Houston Rockets.

Wouldn't putting them on the road more be marketing favortism in the form of the bringing in revenue in other cities using championship team?  Did you see how evil Lord Sternfish is putting them on the road a lot more in the front of the schedule so there will be more sold out games at the start of the season?

I am not quite sure what this means but I will be waiting for a link to prove that the league is not trying to tire out the Lakers at the start of the season to feed the marketing masters.  Until I see a link saying otherwise then this will be true.

No buddy, this is OUR new lame arrangement.  Just you and I.   I request a link like you do.  If no one provides a link saying otherwise I convince myself I am right and then bring it up 4 months later in some random thread about a team not named The Lakers.

Uh....was Los Angeles one of those cities?  I'd imagine it was.  So...did he choose one of those cities?  I'd imagine he did.

The question is whether he bolted Utah under the pretense that he was going somewhere specific, and didn't.

koastal claimed Fisher only had two choices, L.A. and Boston.
The LA Times article said he had "6 or 7".

6 or 7 is a greater number then 2.  Does your client need a link to prove this?  :D

I didn't skirt.  I explained to you, probably like 5 times, that the MOST RESPECTED EXPERTS THE DEAL WITH THIS CANCER WERE IN BOSTON AND LA.

koastal claimed Fisher only had two choices, L.A. and Boston.

This is a lie and you know it.  You are a sad little man always trying to twist things around because of your inability to ever admit you are wrong.

My understanding was NEW YORK was the other front-runner.  I thought that was where she was being treated.

No you didn't explain anything.  You did claim that "the top specialists in the country for this particular form of cancer were in Los Angeles and Boston."
No supporting quotes.  No articles.  And no.....drumroll.....link(s).

I on the other hand quoted the L.A. Times article which said and i again quote:
Quote
"At the end of the summer, the Jazz accepted Fisher's request to be released so he could live in one of the six or seven cities where he could obtain the best treatment for his daughter."

Ted added

I will confirm that this little tidbit appeared in the news with unnamed sources at the Jazz confirming that Fisher said New York and went to L.A.
Now we have Joe reiterating the point that Swishers daughter was being treated in NY, why would Boston and LA be the "ONLY" places with those specialists?
Fabrikation?  ;) :D

What do you mean I didn't explain anything.  How much more do you need than 'One of the most well respected specialists with this form of cancer lives in LA'  Do you want a full back ground check?  Is this not true until I provide links for you from many people who have this form of rare cancer?  Again with your bullshit of requesting links but never providing any on your own.  Where are the links that say that the guy in Los Angeles is not well respected?  Where is the link that said there is a specialist in Utah that can help?  I can play the Glenn Beck style of arguing as well Reality

How god damn dense are you really?  Did I say 'these are the only places she can be treated' ?? NO I DID NOT.  I said and I repeat for the 7th god damn time Reality those locations were where the two most respected doctors for that form of cancer reside.  Stop twisting things around.

On top of all of this, why dont you just come out and say it.  You don't care about Fisher's daughter,  you don't care about Utah, and you don't care about New York.  You only care Fisher went to the Lakers.  That is it.   You wouldn't care where Fisher went had it not been the Lakers.  If he went to New York, would you be crying for Utah? No.  If he went to the Washington Wizards would you be crying for New York or Boston? No.  Not to mention New York was loaded up with guards at the time.    Just knock it off with the rest of it.  You only care because of some indirect way you can hate on the Lakers.

Here are the facts:

Los Angeles has a well respected specialist when it comes to this form of cancer
Fisher's daughter did in fact have cancer
After seeing the doctor in Los Angeles the cancer has gone into remission
You, Reality, are not a doctor nor are you in the medical field so stop trying to pretend like you know exactly how to treat cancer or where cancer specialists are

From Derek Fisher himself:

Quote
Knowing this, I decided that we had to move closer to doctors and hospitals that specialized in treating her illness. It was a tough choice that put my family's financial future in jeopardy. I had to leave the Utah Jazz, forfeiting the remaining three years on my contract (approximately $20 million) before I could even consider playing elsewhere. And then there was no guarantee that another team would want me.

The weeks that passed before I was signed to the Lakers were agonizing. Ensuring Tatum's health was priceless, but I wondered if I could still give my children the kind of life I had envisioned for them. Finally I landed a second deal with the Lakers, which was a blessing because Los Angeles has a superb medical facility where Tatum can receive the best care.

You are not too stupid to use Google right?  Why don't you Google where papers are being written about this and where a lot of research is being done.

Luckily we did some research and got in touch with a doctor who specialized in intra-arterial chemotherapy, a treatment that involves injecting medication directly into the eye. We flew to New York for a consultation, and soon after, Tatum underwent an operation that saved her eye.
 :D
Thanks for the link, B-Rad.  ;)

Same story, he talks about taking her to Los Angeles for care.

Apparently, once the procedure was done, he switched hospitals for the follow-up care.  That's reasonably common.

So far, I've yet to see any reason why people would have a problem with Fisher.  He went to LA, and that was where his daughter did her follow-up care.

Exactly.  I've yet to see that.

Obviously, I don't know what was said behind closed doors and such, but from my point of view, I'll generally give a guy like Fisher the benefit of the doubt.
