The question is whether he bolted Utah under the pretense that he was going somewhere specific, and didn't.

Exactly.  I've yet to see that.

Obviously, I don't know what was said behind closed doors and such, but from my point of view, I'll generally give a guy like Fisher the benefit of the doubt.

You should just give up like I have.  There really is no sense in continuing on with this.  Unless you want to flat out tell Reality he is right and that this was all a league wide conspiracy to use his daughters illness to get back to play on the Lakers then you'll be arguing until the end of time.

You're going to give up fabrikoasting!?
I don't think so.

Here's a repost (with a yawn).

Reality  Except i have at no time made snide comments about Fishers daughter.  Nor have i ever wanted her to not get better.  At to her status, i did see a piece come on halftime of the rigged Finals and chose not to watch it.  Your attempts to slanderously misquote me would normally be cause for a rebuttal, but it's just....you.  Such an obvious attempt to make yourself appear to be the Great Defender of All Things Laker and self righteously fabricate that you are so much more compassionate then any of the rest of us towards Fisher and his daughter.

On the compassion front, while again i want and always have wanted Fishers to recover, i have much more concern for the poverty stricken or even not so poverty stricken who have not made 60+ million dollars as Fisher has and thus he can afford to live anywhere he chooses in the U.S. and easily fly her to wherever he wants for the best treatment possible.  That he chose LA, so be it.  Wish others with children who do not have multi millions had that option.

I'll stick with we don't know.  I'll also stick with the author of the LA Times article verifying to me that "6 or 7 cities" were options, not Fabrikoastals "L.A. and Boston".   :D
Fisher giving a three years after the fact prearranged interview with Essence magazine does not change my mind a bit.
Possibly choreographed interview with help of Laker PR?  Oh yeah.
Had Fisher done this interview at the time of the move to L.A. it would hold much more credibility.

Reality, cut the crap.  Seriously.  There is no fabrication.  We all understand your motives behind arguing so much.  We know about your obsession.  There is really nothing more to say about it.  I don't need to rehash what I already said about this situation.  Had this been any other player with any other team, you wouldn't bring it up.  Just leave it at that.  Joe has literally given you the same answer for about 2 weeks now and you continue to push and push against it.  There is a reason for that and it most certainly has nothing to do with looking out for the Utah Jazz.

Are you really going to stop the same redundant fabrikating?

Another fabrikation.  But since we're on the subject, why does stuff like this happen only with the Lakers?  :D

And back to the original topic, the Lakers league fewest 15 back to backs includes an *away* game, Laker style on Dec 8th at Staples vs the Clippers.
Those gangsta Lakers.  Shudder.

I also think you westkoast are leaving out some of the additional reasons why Los Angeles was the best choice for Derek Fisher.  Supposing he and Kobe want to go out burqua shopping at a location where models are showing the latest styles.  If Kobe and Derek along with you and W.O.W. showed up at a Salt Lake City restaraunt or nightclub wearing burquas, i think Ted would vouch that some SLC boys would slap you all upside the head.  I'm not saying i agree with this type of violence and I cannot provide a link as proof.  Nor can Ted (that i know of).
In the confines of L.A. however, you four could meet for drinks and a burqua modeling show in peaceful, supportive conditions.  Perhaps unwinding before a tough trip to an *away* game at Staples vs the Clippers.

You know, it's unfair to blame the LAKERS for sharing the building with the Clippers.  If you want to blame anyone for that, I suggest you 1) blame Sterling, who made the move because it offered him the most money, 2) the rest of the Clipper organization for not speaking up about it, and 3) the NBA front office for allowing it to happen.  Heck, blame NBA ownership ENTIRELY for allowing the team to move from San Diego to LA in the first place with Donald Sterling at the helm, into a town that already had a team.

It's in the interest of the Staples Center to have as many big events there as they can.  They did what I'd have done.

It's in the interest of the Lakers to make sure that they get the more favorable schedule at the Staples Center, given their positions as the "name" tenant.  That's what they did.

And Donald Sterling took the money;  screw sports competitiveness.

Funny thing years ago when Staples was thinking of booting the Clippers thereby opening up a ton of dates for other events, estimates were the other events would bring in much more money then the Clippers.
So why weren't they booted?
Oh yeah the Lakers.  :D ;)

You can only hide behind pictures and arguing in circles in your own mind Reality.  Everyone else knows what is really going on.

Things happen to other teams, you just don't care to ever talk about them because they are not the Lakers.  That is why you run for the hills when it was clear the Spurs got gifted against the Suns in the playoffs with the Horry/Nash check.  Had Horry been a Laker you would still be talking about it till this day. Since he was not, you don't bring it up.  How long ago was the back room deal with Joe Smith and the Wolves?  2000?  You STILL cry about Laker issues from then but not a peep about something like that.  Now I don't expect people to bring the Wolves issue up or continue to cry about Derek Fisher choosing where he thinks his daughter will received the best care.  That is old news.  I do expect you to stop pretending like you are not bias towards all things Lakers though.  That would be a good start.  Basketball players work on their game in the off-season.  You should probably try to work on your posting game after you spent the last 'posting season'  pissing off 75% of this board at one point or another.

As for why the Clippers were not booted for events, if you had any sense of logical thinking you could probably answer your own question.  As an adult you should have a firm grasp a thing called a 'contract'. You should also keep in mind that scheduling concerts and other events are more subject to be canceled than an NBA basketball game.  A Clippers game might not bring in as much money as  a Britney Spears concert but there is no chance of Baron Davis feeling 'dizzy' and the game not happening at all.  Oh shoot I probably should stop 'Fabrikoasting' such a ludicrous thought..  It has to be so the Lakers get to play 2 more games in Staples Center per year  ::)
