Girls, you do NOT get pregnant between the day you ovulate (which starts 10 days before the period) and the day you get your period. Everyone seems to believe BEFORE the ovulation is the safe time -DEAD WRONG. I have not yet met a single person who knew about this and on top of it, they ALWAYS insist that I AM wrong.

If you are going for unprotected sex, I would wait till at least 5-6 days before your period, just to be safe.

This is completely false!  A woman is potentially capable of becoming pregnant for approx. 7 days within her 28 day cycle. The time is up to 5 days before ovulation, provided the sperm can stay alive while waiting for the egg to become available, and for 2 days afterwards, which is the time it takes for the egg to start to decay and be reabsorbed.  However, 5 days before the period is 5 days after the egg has dropped, so that is very likely a "safe" time.
