FYI... for those who like basketball with their breakfast, Team USA will be tipping off against the almighty Turkey tomorrow morning at 8am on ESPN2.

Do they have Okur and Hedo on there team?

As is there a national law that all people from Turkey must have the letter's "T-U-R-K-E" in their names?

The USA squad looks pretty sharp with a 32 point win over Turkey. Hopefully they keep their egos in check for when they face the real powerhouse nations.

Again, I like the guard play on this team.

I just got to watch part of the game vs. Lithuania.  Our interior defense is AWFUL.  Why this team didn't bring more bigs is beyond me.

Why Jason Kidd starts ahead of CP3 and Deron is beyond me.

Because he's a HOFer and that's how it works...

He may be a HOF'er, but he's 35 and almost a black hole offensively.  He's still solid for the most part, but can't collapse the defense like CP3 and Deron and is a mediocre shooter at best.

I'm not diagreeing that he shouldn't start (hell i don't even think he should be there), I'm just saying that there's a prestige thing i think factors in and kidd is the 'vet'

True, and I'm sure the fact that he's got an undefeated international record plays a part in it.

Even more nonsensical :)

I agree that he shouldn't start but he is, and apparently will be, only getting about 15 minutes a game. According to the telecast, Coach K likes having him there because it's like having another coach. Either way, this team has a different feel than teams in the recent past. I think they're a lock for the gold and may find themselves in only 1 or 2 close games. The rest of them will be over by half-time.

Also... how about that Michael Redd fellow again? 14 minutes, 16 points, 3 boards on 6-10 shooting that included 4 for 8 from three. Not bad. :-)
