To what degree should having Lou effect what PG to go after.  Do we want another combo guard (with size) who can run the pick and roll.  Or should we go for the best pure PG, even if they could not share the floor with Lou unless the team goes zone.

Optimally I would like a PG with good size for defense, three point shooting ability and good court vision.  I don't think we need a scorer type and I don't want a munchkin like Augustin, even though he is a good player.

This team needs Lou to improve as a defender.  If they go for a bigger PG they will continue to get destroyed by the quicker PG's out ther, unless Lou can step up and use his athletic ability to slow them down.  They can't be reliant on a defensive specialist to put out the fire.

My bad, what I was thinking of was more of a longer armed defensive PG as far as size goes.  More Russel Westbrook mode than a taller, less mobile kind of big PG.  I did not express that very well

No I got your original post.  Its more that every PG involves trade-offs.  Even CP3 has to deal with his lack of size.

Sounds like you want someone who complements Lou well.  Sounds like someone like Hinrich but maybe with a bit better PG instincts.

Right now Miller does everyhthing well except shoot with range and guard quicker PG's.  Sounds like his replacement would still have some problems with quicker guys- unless they really are someone like Westrbrook or Harris, can guard anybody.

Harris would have been an ideal fit for this team.  I would be willing to look at a guy like Foye as well, he is pretty good defensively, although not a true PG.  I don't think we need a big time scorer at PG as we have or will develop a ton of other scoring options.  Defense and shooting should be at a premium.

The good news is that while this is overall a weak draft class, the one position it's chockful of is point guards.  Any number of guys could fall to us.

PG is like drafting a QB or RB in the NFL.  The risk/reward is really high.  I hope DilEo can free up some time to scout.

I'd like for Stefanski to look into the McCants situation.  He's got some emotional/maturity issues, but he's a very skilled offensive player

I don't know if his upside is worth dealing with his attitude.  The Sixers seem to have a high character bunch, but why bring in a bad apple.  Even one can have an impact on someone like Speights.

Tom Moore reported (in a blog) that the Sixers offered Sam for Kaman... and were turned down.  I do not understand that move for either team other than Sam fits better next to Zach than Kama.  But trying to build around Zack is insane.

BTW, Kaman's contract is smaller but runs a year longer than Sam's.  I would think even with its length, Kaman is more marketable than Sam.

Did they offer to sweeten the pot with Willie Green?  Or is Kaman not as good as I think he is?

Kaman has been having foot problems this year.  That is always a bad sign for a big guy.  I am not sure how much better Kaman is than Sammy this year, he had a much better year last year and does seem to know how to play within himself.  And he is ugly enough to scare opposing players if he can't block their shot.

Or maybe Ed has a sense of humor, and just wanted to see Kaman and Evans on the same team.
