Lou A will be a dramatic upgarde- to their summer league team.  He is unstopable in LV.

Also- hopefully goes back to the Bizarro Korver look- I think it helped his game immeasurable (as in impossible to measure.)

Barnes will fit there. Lou will sit on the end of the bench.

Barnes only really blossomed in the GS system.  He might have been a better fit for Phoenix in the D'Antoni era.  Maybe he can help carry Shaq up and down the court.

I actually liked that the Sixers acquired him in the Webber deal, thinking he was a nice young role player with some skills that could be developed. I still kind of like him as a second-unit wing, and in Phoenix he could do just as well as in Golden State.

Where's he going to go?  Sign for less with another team?  Overseas?  Has he gotten any offers?

I hate this slow/no nes period of the annual NBA cycle.  One interesting tidbit is Stephen Jackson bitching that he wants an extension now after his team mates got paid this summer.  He has two years left on his deal totaling a little over $14 million.  He thinks about needing the extension all the time and can't see going into the season without one.  Those words sound like a major problem brewing.  At 30 years old, not a superstar and two years left on his current deal does Mullin cave in and give him an extension or watch as Jackson tears the team up.  Not the most stable force for team unity to begin with, I have no doubt Jackson will be trouble if he doesn't get the extension.  Harrington, Ellis, Maggette and Biedrins are all paid more than he is.

I hope Mullin doesn't cave in and extend him early.  They just lost their franchise player and committed lots of dollars long term.  They should see how they fair early on this season before fully committing to the team as currently constructed.  Personally, if they couldn't make the playoffs (granted in an exceptionally competitive western conference last year) with Baron Davis, I don't think they can get it done without him.  Jackson may be a major part of the team, but I don't know if he's the man to step forward and take on a leadership role now that their franchise player has jumped ship.... and he probably shouldn't get paid accordingly.... especially with so much time left on his current contract.

Fredric Weis traded for Patrick Ewing Jr.  Defines the term inconsequential.

Weis' 9-yr old draft rights, that is. And I think "inconsequential" sums it up pretty well.
