I can't imagine SAS being right on that...

I'm sure he is right on that, but only because we don't have enough cap space to make a straight max offer.  S&T for Brand with some Deandre Jordan on the side might get us closer to the max though.

What Stephen A Smith said was that stefanski has reservations about brand and had no interest in offering him a max deal, it has nothing to do with the money amount...

I don't think theres any question that it will have to be a S&T. I can't see the Clippers just giving him away (at what, 12 million a year) without at least getting some picks in return.

What should we be willing to send back to the Clipps in exchange for a S&T?  2 1sts next year?  Carney?  Smith(almost a given)?

The Clipps could very well turn around and sign a RFA with the space they clear up, and come out of this offseason younger and with a decent future.

Everybody says they don't want to leave their current team.....I'm not sweating that til he agrees

Teams and players really can't say anything showing interest or else it's tampering.  I'll wait til midnight before I start taking anything as anything near truth.

Oh, and hi all, I'm just over from the philaphans board.  This seems like a nice place

it could be a S&T however, i don't understand why Ed would have reservations offering him the max deal. unless Ed's main target is josh smith.

I know that GM's can't tamper, but can't players say what ever they damn well please?

By the way, welcome- I think I will rename my recent new post the DDD.

It would be an ethical issue to comment on anything like that I think

I don't know about ethics, but it might piss off his teammates- unless you are the Hibachi, and then everyone pretty much laughs it off.

I have no problem witha S&T, but half the people on RealGm suddenly want to give Iggy in the S&T, that is idiotic.  Teams losing players in S&T deals do not get near full value.  If they get the Utah pick, Reggie (for salary purposes) and Jason Smith they should be ecstatic on the receiving end of a S&T.  They will be free to go after Arenas and have some cheap new assets up front.

I mean putting any GM on the hotseat by speaking out of turn. Probably just bad form

I don't know if they want to give up Andre. But if that's what it came down to, they'd rather have Brand than Andre. (myself included)
