Hedo's connections in Sacramento suggested to local media that his collapse in the post season probably cost him another twenty million in contract money. Last year, he was seriously considered a six year sixty million dollar man, which looks to be ludicrous now.
Brent Barry will cash in this summer big time. I expect him to get the max money. He improves the play of his teammates, which is such a rare and unorthadox phenomenon in today's "Look-At-My-Stats-So-Pay-Me" generation of NBA players that GM's around the League must be drooling over adding him to their rosters.
Whoever gets Barry will truly benefit. I doubt he goes to the Rockets, simply because they already have one of the few other players in the NBA who actually understands the concept of "teamwork" - Jimmy Jackson, who generally plays the same position.
The Spurs are a much better fit and they already have a great "teamwork" concept. With Barry in that lineup, they become instant frontrunners for the 2005 championship.
