The San Antonio Spurs are said to be in discussions with former University of Texas standout Chris Mihm who is a restricted free agent with the Boston Celtics. Mihm earned nearly $4 million last year and Celtics G.M. Danny Ainge must soon decide whether he will re-sign Mihm or try to package him for a trade along with two Celtics players whose deals expire soon: Michael Stewart ($4.8 million in 2005) and Chucky Atkins ($4.2 in 2006).
Mihm, who sought the advice of David Robinson and Tim Duncan before deciding whether to forego his collegiate eligibility at the University of Texas, was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in first round (seventh overall pick) of the 2000 NBA Draft before his rights were traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers. He played with the Cavs until last season before being traded to the Celtics.
In another report I read on Spursreport.com, Brent Barry is said to be leaning to join the Spurs organization.
