Spurs looking to get Chris Mihm
« on: July 09, 2004, 11:20:58 AM »
The San Antonio Spurs are said to be in discussions with former University of Texas standout Chris Mihm who is a restricted free agent with the Boston Celtics. Mihm earned nearly $4 million last year and Celtics G.M. Danny Ainge must soon decide whether he will re-sign Mihm or try to package him for a trade along with two Celtics players whose deals expire soon: Michael Stewart ($4.8 million in 2005) and Chucky Atkins ($4.2 in 2006).

Mihm, who sought the advice of David Robinson and Tim Duncan before deciding whether to forego his collegiate eligibility at the University of Texas, was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in first round (seventh overall pick) of the 2000 NBA Draft before his rights were traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers. He played with the Cavs until last season before being traded to the Celtics.

In another report I read on Spursreport.com, Brent Barry is said to be leaning to join the Spurs organization.

Mihm - a big white stiff to replace Sean Marks as practice fodder.

Unless Pop can work a deal to acquire Mihm and an ending contract for Malik.  Then Mihm also adds future cap relief.
It riles them to believe that you perceive the web they weave.  Keep on thinking free.

So the entire purpose of Sean Marks was practice fodder.  Why was he kept on the IR for the almost entire season.

Dabods posted the combined stats for Rasha and Malik in the 2004 playoffs.  WoW mentioned BEFORE the start of last reg season how the Spurs response to the 2+2=4 HOFLamers acquisition could be Spurs either pick someone or live with what they had (Malik) and have mega cap space this year.

They have done the worst of both worlds.  Picked Rashastiff (who had him moments dont get me wrong) and benched (yet did not trade) Malik.  How many bucks did they tie up for 3 pts and 3 rbds in the playoffs.  They blew it.  Now whats up?  Are they out of the Kobme sweepstakes or not?  sf101 seems to be the only one who heard of Manu signing, altho i have no trouble believing its a *done deal* just not on paper yet.  Oh Boozer, woops, its not done.
