The marketing of Kobe

NEITHER Kobe NOR AI are leaders -- they are SUPPOSED to be leaders but they aren't.

Kobe is a VERY angry kid right now -- IMO, he is angry that management went out and all the help they could get Kobe is Kwame Brown (and they game up two quality role players to do it) and he is angry that his teammates aren't making him look better.  That doesn't bode well for the Lakers -- because Kobe will become more determined to "do it all on his own."  Kobe IS going to be "the man" in LA -- for a long time to come -- but he has to learn to trust his teammates.  Of course, the bigger problem is that you are NEVER going to be able to trust the likes of Kwame, Mihm, and Medvendenko -- and you are NEVER going to be able to trust Lamar Odom as a #2 option.  Odom makes a great #3 option but not a #2.

As for responsibility, Rick, it's ridiculous to state that people don't have to assume responsibility because of their upbringing!  Sure, they may not have had the same opportunities or role models but at some point they have to assume responsibility for their actions and decisions.
