Please pray for him, he's been such a staple in our community for so many years.  He's also been a mystery, as his identity has never been revealed, until now. Just the fact that Spurs Mgnt released his name so we could pray for him tells me this is serious.

NEW: Man behind Spurs Coyote hospitalized after blood loss
By Laura Jesse Express-News Staff Writer Web Posted : 02/18/2004 3:06 PM
For 20 years the Spurs Coyote has entertained Spurs fans of all ages, jumping around the court at games, attending parades, festivals and other events, and bouncing down the hallways of hospitals brightening the days of sick children.
Today, the man behind the lovable character needs the hope and strength of his fans.
Tim Derk, who has remained practically anonymous to San Antonio, lost blood to the part of the brain that controls balance and muscle strength. He was hospitalized Friday.
Doctors are trying to determine the cause of the loss of blood and are administering medicine to prevent a reoccurence.
"We felt it was important to give San Antonio the opportunity to pray specifically for him," said Russ Bookbinder, executive vice president of business operations for the Spurs, said of the decision to identify Derk to the public.
Two understudies will fill in for Derk until he is able to return, Bookbinder said at a news conference today.
Well-wishes to Derk may be e-mailed to tderk@sbccenter.net or mailed to Tim Derk, c/o The San Antonio Spurs, One SBC Center, 78219.

What a tough condition to deal with.
Hope they can pinpoint the cause and cure.
Glad you posted the email.
