Where will Shaq be traded to?
« on: June 19, 2004, 11:37:06 AM »
Mitch Kupchack has said that if Shaq wants to be traded they will do their best to accommodate his wishes.  So where will he be traded to?

To Memphis to be reunited with Jerry West?

Back to Orlando?

New York is never bashful about rolling the dice?

How about Sacramanto for Webber and Peja?

Maybe Detroit for Sheed and Ben Wallace?

Who knows maybe Indiana for Ron Artest and Jermaine O'Neal?

Could it possibly be the hated Celtics?

How about the Suns for Marion, Amare, and the #7 pick Andresuvikias (sp?)?

Or is this all ploy by Shaq to get approval over the choice of the new coach?
A third-rate mind is only happy when it is thinking with the majority. A second-rate mind is only happy when it is thinking with the minority. A first-rate mind is only happy when it is thinking.

A quotation is a handy thing to have about, saving one the trouble of thinking for oneself.

Because of his salary a team would have to gut their roster and practically build from scratch.  Shaq doesn't have enough  years left in those wheels for a team to develope around him.

"Not his story"

"My people's culture was strong, it was pure"
"And if not for that white greed"
"It would've endured"

zig,

Why would Detroit want to do such a thing?
They just proved a team beats a pack of HOFs.

Could be a ploy, we've seen other rants by Shaq and other Lakers present a new episode on next weeks soap "LaLa Landers".   However Shaq sounded very sincere in this interview.

If Shaq was to shock the world and offer to take less salary and join a team of his choice, like SAS could he do this?  Or is NBA union and Stern like greedy MLB Players Assoc that stopped ARod from lowering his salary?

That is why the perfect choice for the trade is Charlotte.  They can pick enough players from teh expansion draft....working with the Lakers....to make the trade.  It gives Charlotte an excellant first couple seasons and when they get their full salary cap will have all the room that Shaq's contract will free up.  Any other team would have to basically gut their rosters to get Shaq.

Danny Forston, Elden Campbell, Malik Rose & Brian Grant?

Austin Croshere, Antonio Davis, Ervin Johnson, Jerome James, Jahidi White in place of some of the above?

Ending contracts like Antoine Walker, Pippen?

If I'm Kupchak I am burning upo the lines with Charlotte....Shaq gives them instant appeal, competiveness and puts him in the East.  In return the Lakers can get several serviceable big men in return.  They have to be realistic and realize they are not going to get a bunch of stars in return for Shaq....no one is going to gut their team for a 32 year old overweight center that plays 60 games a year.

It riles them to believe that you perceive the web they weave.  Keep on thinking free.
