I've also got Kareem as number 2, behind only Russell in terms of the game's greats.

My list for all-time greats is:

1.  Russell
2.  Abdul-Jabbar
3.  Chamberlain
4.  Jordan
5.  Johnson

West, Erving, Bird, O'Neal, Robertson, Baylor, Olajuwon, and Duncan follow from there, in some order.  Not sure which at this point.

To me Bill Russell is the greatest big man to play the game.  He had it all.  No knock to Kareem, he is a close second, but I can't put him about Bill Russell.
