Anyone see the NJ game?
« on: May 04, 2004, 09:38:08 AM »
And who says that the eastern confrence is just as fun to watch as the western confrence?  Anyone get a chance to watch that game?  Pathetic.  Horrible.  Boring.  Should I go on?

Anytime the defending EC champ goes on to score a whoopin 56 points for the whole game you know it was sad.  I could have sworn the WNBA wasnt on last night.

Don't insult the ladies like that WK.

I tuned in for the second half but only managed to watch part of the 3rd.  Uuuuuggly.

Yea I should apologize......Lisa Leslie wouldn't go 1 for 8 with 6 points in a playoff game like Richard Jefferson.

I'm not sure if Detroit looked strong last night or the Nets were just that bad.

pitiful game, pitiful, and people actually get upset because the east is made fun of as the "leastern conference"  to think the fans of these teams actually see them play this way for 82 games EVERY SEASON!!!!!

Aren't the pistons outscoring the lakers by 6 ppg in the playoffs?  outscoring minnesota as well.  Isn't Indy leading the league in postseason scoring?

Let's give a little bit of credit to one of the best defensive teams this league has seen in a long time, possibly ever.  Just because opposing pg's don't penetrate at will, doesn't mean inferior basketball is being played.

The Pistons arent exactly playing up against defensive teams like the Rockets or the Spurs are they?

No excuse for the Nets performance last night.  Great defense or not.  36 points by the end of the 3rd?  Seriously you cannot argue in their favor.

west, how many times did the pacers play the western top teams this past season?

2 times each, or so?  i agree, they did not have to face monsters for the majority of their season like teams in the west did, putting Indy in a series with the western playoff teams - a SEVEN game series - and thinking they willl come out on top is asking a bit much I think.  Indy against the 4 bottom western, they might go seven games and POSSIBLY squeek a win in the series.  Indy against the top four western teams?  its over in 5 games anyone of the top four wins it hands down.....

Erm....I specifically said playoffs, quoting playoff stats, talking about performance in the playoffs...

When did I say the Nets didn't play like sh*t?

However, a little bit of credit needs to be given to the pistons and pacers, of which none is given in this thread.

Pacers record v. The West: 20-8.
Detroit: 17-11

So you're saying Indy is on par with the Grizzlies and Nuggets?

Huh?

Indy would not only beat the bottom teams in the west, including dallas, right now they'd give the lake show a run for their money.

Some people need to come back to reality and down from their cloud.

ummmmmm d, no way indy would have those stats if they played west teams 4 or five games each during the season as oppossed to twice each during the season - end of story.  no way at all.  I would put Gasol and his griz over in 7 games against indy in a playoff series - right now, if it happenned.

I mean we played LA 4 times
Sac 4 times

as oppossed to indy playing what?  philly for instance?  how many times? the nets?

what team in the east would be a minnie to indy? how about a houston? who would be a denver??

its not the same d, that much is clear...

Detroit deserves credit for their defense last night but that low final score had plenty to do with the Nets just plain missing gimmie shots, bad shot selection, and getting away from their game.

Whether you think so or not Indy doesnt have the inside game to compete with the Spurs, Wolves, or Lakers in a 7 game series.  Who in the EC does Jermaine have to play tough defense against at the 4?  Other than Sheed moving to Detroit during the season he didnt have to face serious post players.

Pacers record against top 4 in west   3-5
Pacers vs west 5-8 seeds                 6-2
Pacers vs west non playoff teams    11-1

Pistons record against top 4 in west   2-6
Pistons vs west 5-8 seeds                 6-2
Pistons vs west non playoff teams     9-3

Sure looks extremely positive for the East's chances in the finals.

Also the Lakers swept the EC at home.  Not a single team from the East beat them at home.
