Kobes Bryant on an assist tear
« on: May 26, 2010, 12:22:54 AM »
Kobes Bryant with 10+ assists for 3 games in a row!!!  This has got to be a career record for Kobes.
Two of the games were at Phoenix, so we can pretty much rule out rigged scorekeeping like the Forum ones who used to give Magic 20 *assists* a game in games where he had 7-8 legit.

What is inspiring Kobes?  Does Kobes wanna be like LeBron?
Is he tiring of being the ballhog?  Why?

15-22 with 10 assists, 7 boards in Gm 4s 115-106 loss.   Kobes this loss was not on you.

Kobe is doing it, because he can, but the Lakers aren't going to keep winning if they have to rely on him to be the primary distributor.

If true, ^^ why does Kobes now decide to go for assists?

Kobe is doing everything he can to help his team win, he plays the right way and he plays hard. He can create his own shot and he can create open shots for others. He really needs someone else to step up and help the team score against the Sun's zone.

Why the change to 10+ assists in 3 straight games?  He's never touched that in his history.
Why before 8-25 when the Lakers lost?

The Suns are doubling Kobe more, so he's passing more.  The Suns think Artest can't shoot so they cheat off of him. When the Suns weren't playing zone, the Lakers could pass inside to Bynum and Gasol, and they would cheat to the inside with little effect. But with the zone, the Lakers offensive flow is disrupted, they can't get anything easy. So the Lakers do what they do when they are under stress, rely on Kobe more.

He's capable of playing the point to a certain degree, but it's not an ideal situation for a team to rely on one player to be their primary scorer and distributor.

Because that what the defense is giving him.

SMH @ Rick.....when Kobe shoots too much he makes the post 'They are not going to win when Kobe shoots this much' but when he makes all the right passes (btw Assists mean the ball is actually going in the hole) it is 'they can't win if he is the primary distributor'  Which is it? LOL.
