Sure was. Dallas really dictated the pace from the tip-off. Nash came out like a crazy man scoring all over the place. The Kings were having trouble making baskets at first. But then the Mavs cooled down a little, and the Kings were able to catch up. I think there were times the Kings tried to slow the pace down a bit, but it was tough to do. Bibby and Peja had good nights; Webber did not.

I didn't watch the entire second half due to the time factor (EST vs. PST), but the game was a nailbiter. Doug Collins was right that several of the games in this series could easily have gone the other way, the teams were so close in score. I'm just glad things went the King's way last night and that this series is over.

Let me add  my congrats.  I saw most of the second half and loved both the high score and the defeat of Cuban.

The Kings certainly helped themselves by getting this series over quickly.  Given their injuries and struggles at the end of the season the last thing the needed was a 7 game series.

Let me add my congrats also.  Kings really came together for the playoffs after lulling everyone to sleep in the final weeks of the reg season.  They showed more playoff poise than the Mavs....something that may allow them to take out the Wolves in the next round.
It riles them to believe that you perceive the web they weave.  Keep on thinking free.

Thank you, Dan.

And where are my manners (oh, here they are!!) I neglected to congratulate the Lakers on taking care of business against the Rockets. Personally, I had no doubts about the Lakers dispatching the Rockets based on talent alone, but it looks to me you have a true floor leader on that team now who is not going to let anybody slide at this time of year. Karl Malone, thug player or not, has the right mental approach to the post season that all the Zen words of wisdom Jackson can come up with can never motivate the players as much, or match, Malone's work on the floor.

The Kings were a bit lucky on that last play. Peja defending each of the Big Three in turn and mentioning Peja affecting last second shots seem out of place, but on this play, where the Kings had a foul to give, Peja fouls not once, but twice, the refs swallow their whistle, leaving Dirk out on an island essentially to create whatever he could under the circumstances. He looked a bit unprepared though he has made that particular shot more often then not.

While I am thinking of it, congratulations to all the Spurs posters as well for having your team well-rested prior to taking on the Lakers. When will San Antonio lose again? This should be a great series, not just on the court but in here as well. The two teams with the most supporters go at it and I predict that before it is over some of us won't be so friendly towards each other.

The few Wolves/Kings posters here will have to make up for fewer numbers by being more obnoxious.

" when will the Spurs lose again?" funny you should ask that JoMal...

I have a feeling this long span of time between games to accomodate Mr Bryant is going to hurt us come game 1.  I am getting the feeling we may lose game one - which would be bad, very bad, for us - I think it will end up making us go seven games against LA, instead of 6, and just barely beating them.......man i cant wait for this to start..........this is better than crack!

In the past I've respected you JoMal because while our discussion can get heated we typically don't cross the line.

Karl Malone?!?!

You my friend, are an a-hole!

Takes one to know one, peckerhead, but you better enjoy whatever floor leadership you can get on that ships of ghouls you call the Lakers.

Props to the Kings, they were clearly the better team.  Christie had a great series and Bibby really stepped up last night.  Webber didn't look so hot, he's obviously still struggling with the injury.  Peja also has not been as involved as I would want him to be if I were a Kings fan <shudder the thought>.  If the Kings are going to have a shot at winning it all, he has got to be the focal of the offense, IMO.

JoMal, I was glad to see you acknowledge the last play of the game.  Unbelievable the refs didn't call that first foul.  The second one, although definitely a foul, maybe doesn't get called on the home floor on a game decider.  But not calling the first one, which was clearly intentional, was absolutely unbelievable and definitely screwed Dallas.  That being said, Dallas didn't deserve to win the game.  They don't even try to play D.  I thought I was watching the NBA allstar game.

Reality, where are you this a.m. with your conspiracy theories?  Because that ef-up by the refs is not even subject to debate.  Stern must be holding a grudge against Cuban for voicing his displeasure with the officiating .... right?  Or does your scrutiny of the league/Stern/refs/ only apply to one team?

Sorry, jn, I couldn't resist.

Reality, saw your comments on the previous thread ..... that's all you got?  Sheez, if that play would have went down at Staples Center I would have expected at least a 4 paragraph ramble.
