On the set of Walker Texas Ranger Chuck Norris brought a dying lamb back to life by nuzzling it with his beard. As the onlookers gathered, the lamb sprang to life. Chuck Norris then roundhouse kicked it, killing it instantly. The lesson? The good Chuck giveth, and the good Chuck, he taketh away.

I see it panning out like this.....

McDyees will have like 4-5 games where he is awesome but that moron of a couch (no not a typo, he just sits there) Popasnitch is going to let him rot on the bench in favor of another player.

LOL

Sorta, the questioning of Popavich is def an impression but I realize I've been talking too positive about the Spurs over the past 6 months.  Seeing as you guys are ramping up to try to knock off the Lakers I figured this off-season I need to ramp up my Spurs bashing.  Call it smack-talk training.

Though I don't buy into the idea the  Spurs are 'too old' and it hurts the squad.  Quite frankly their fan base (Lurker) is old too.  How better to get the fans to relate to the players than by making sure they have some similarities?

I am a fan of kobe's lip quiver at losing to the Spurs.  I will be ready for our title party downtown this year.   ;D

This isn't a great move, but it isn't a bad one.  McDyess is solid.  But I have to ask myself if this forces Duncan to the perimeter more, to let McDyess work in low.  Wallace, in my opinion, was a better fit for San An, and when you get right down to it, so was Shawn Marion.

There's no question the Spurs will be better next year, with the addition of Jefferson, but I really think how far the Spurs go in the playoffs depends largely on whether or not Ginobilli is there in the final minutes of the game and what he's physically capable of doing.  And, of course, without Duncan, the Spurs might has well just go home.

mcdyess is a jump shooting big man at this point in his career.  Not necessarily perimeter, but foul line extended.  In fact, over 40% of his attempts last year were from spot-up jump shots.

So how is that different that Kurt Thomas?

San An needs a multi-threat on offense - a deep range shooter with a capable back-to-the-basket game.  Now maybe that's Richard Jefferson, but I'd still like to see something a little better at the big spot alongside Duncan.

Not saying it was.  Was more responding to the comment that it might push Duncan out to the perimeter more.  Wouldn't expect that to happen.

It isn't...he should fill the same role.  Thomas got only 17 min a game; McDyess played 30.  I expect pop to aim for 25-27.  But he also averaged 9 boards last year for Detroit.  Besides missing Manu the biggest problem the Spurs had was rebounding.  McDyess fits that nicely.
