All NBA First Team
« on: April 15, 2009, 11:02:56 AM »
Here is the top 5 NBA players based upon win shares.  This not the best player by position, but the 5 top players.

PG  -  Chris Paul  (17.3 Total, 12.6 Offensive, 4.7 Defensive)
SG  -  Dwyane Wade  (14.4 Total, 10.1 Offensive, 4.3 Defensive)
SF  -  LeBron James  (19.7 Total, 13.3 Offensive, 6.4 Defensive)
PF  -  Pau Gasol  (14.4 Total, 10.1 Offensive, 4.3 Defensive)
C  -  Dwight Howard  (13.7 Total, 3.2 Offensive, 10.5 Defensive)

So should this be the All-NBA First Team?

No, I don't think that should be the All NBA First Team.

I'll go with:

1st:  Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Tim Duncan, Dwight Howard
2nd: Chauncey Billups, Chris Paul, Kevin Durant, Dirk Nowitzki, Shaquille O'Neal
3rd:  Deron Williams, Brandon Roy, Kevin Garnett, Caron Butler, Yao Ming

Which part?  17.8 ppg in 30 minutes?  8.5 RPG?  1.5 BPG?  60.9% from the field?  74 games played?  59.8% from the line, the second-best year in his career?

If you find it so funny, who's YOUR pick for 2nd team Center?

You'll have to wait for him to get his response from posters on other boards.  Box scores have become more difficult for him to follow.  :D

Shaq was a nice fantasy pickup this year, he went from a reach to solid contributor.

So i figured it followed such as for the 2nd and 3rd teams.
Nonetheless, thank you Lurker:

I'd add Yao.
But yes Joe, in a Centerless NBA, Shaq is still right up there.  Something you and i agreed on when he was sent to Phx.
More on that subject....

All Joe does is post offensive box score stats and yet you in turn blabber about "Box scores".
Oh the irony!  :D

Nice to see you agree with Joe about it being Shaqs 2nd best year ever, when before all you have done is blather about Shaqs three years on the Lakers.

Realowned.

The FREE THROW PERCENTAGE was the second best season in his career.

I sometimes wonder if people realize that sentence structure and punctuation actually make a difference.

I still don't think Snaq is anywhere near the top 10 NBA players.

No one claimed Shaq was a top 10 player.  Joe claimed that Shaq was the second best CENTER this year.

There is a big difference.  But then you graduated from the Randy School for Reading Comprehension; so these type of comments are par for the course.
