Jameer Nelson out for the rest of the season.
« on: February 03, 2009, 11:02:34 PM »
He messed up his shoulder, looks like he will need season ending surgery (who's lung did this guy collapse?).

Looks like a two horse race in the EC again.  Word is the Magic will be trying to work a deal before the deadline.

On a related injury tangent....looks like all the Lamar Odom trade chatter has been silenced with the Bynum injury.

So if you were Stern who do you name as the all star replacement for Nelson?

Rondo?   This would really piss off Cav fans and does Rondo deserve to be the 3rd Celtic before Ray?

Mo Williams?  Is he really an all star caliber player?

A non-PG like Ray Allen?  This the only true PG on the roster is Harris?  (I don't consider either of the starters - Wade/Iverson - to be PGs).

It riles them to believe that you perceive the web they weave.  Keep on thinking free.

Rondo = I don't remember where I heard it but how do you can you consider a player teams double OFF of and leave wide open an all-star?

IMO Ray Allen is the most deserving but Mo would not get an argument from me.

If I'm Stern there is no question Mo gets the "PR" spot.

If you're going to give it to a "PG" averaging 4 apg, might as well give it to Ray Allen.

Ray Ray gets the AS spot...

Allen becomes third Celtic All-StarComment Email Print Associated Press

NEW YORK -- Boston Celtics guard Ray Allen will replace injured Orlando guard Jameer Nelson next week in the NBA All-Star game.

Allen was added to the Eastern Conference team Thursday by commissioner David Stern after Nelson was forced to pull out because of a torn labrum in his right shoulder.

Allen will be making his ninth All-Star appearance. He also was an injury replacement last season and scored 28 points, helping the East to a 134-128 victory over the West in New Orleans.

His selection gives the defending NBA champions three All-Stars, with Kevin Garnett voted a starter by fans and Paul Pierce selected as a reserve. And it likely will further anger the Cleveland Cavaliers, who believed Mo Williams should have been picked to give them multiple selections.

Nelson also must be replaced in the skills challenge on All-Star Saturday night.

Really helps underline how important LBJ is to Cavs.

And back to back replacements for Allen.  Fans don't want him, coaches don't want him but Sternfish obviously loves him.
