Same as Deng?

Either way, I'm glad it's done with. Now we can move on to a couple big men and get ready for the season.

Assuming typical raises:
$10,561,500.00
$11,670,457.50
$12,779,415.00
$13,888,372.50
$14,997,330.00
$16,106,287.50

Total: $80,003,362.5

A little higher than I had wanted, but could have been worse.

Pretty generous considering the market.  Iggy got NO offers. Now Iggy is locked up through his best years in Philly, indicating that the Sixers think he will be a strong enough player at the 2 to get them a Championship.

Gotta give Stefanski his props for coming through the summer accomplishing everything he needed to.  It is very unfortunate that the Sixers have lost Jason Smith.  Now, they are a bit thin up front depth wise and will need to add another big man.

I felt like his starting salary should have been between 9.5-10.5M.  The top of this range, but not totally out of the market value.  Hopefully some is tied to performance clauses that only count 25% against the cap.

I guess equivalent to 5yr 64M- still on the high end (the last 3 years listed would be ugly) but still a far cry from a max contract of 6yr/100M.

If it has some incentives the deal would be very close to what Deng received, which makes sense at lest from the standpoint of Deng being the most comparable player to Iggy in this class.  A little higher than I thought he and Deng were worth, but better average salary wise than the 5 years at $70 that had been reported earlier.

Dei Lynam is supposedly reporting that the actual deal is around 6 years/$72MIL with incentives that could make it $80MIL. Let's all hope he hits the incentives.

If it's actually $72 million then it would look like this right?

$9.6
$10.56
$11.52
$12.48
$13.44
$14.4
$72

Which is basically the $57 million offer with a 6th year added onto it. I'll take it.

this just proves that Josh Smith should have taken the QO. And that he should now fire his agent.

Iguodala gets 6 years, $80 million from Sixers

By Kate Fagan

INQUIRER STAFF WRITER

Now, it's a done deal.

A league source has confirmed that Andre Iguodala and the 76ers agreed today in principle to a six-year deal worth $80 million.

In addition to the base salary, Iguodala, 24, could earn up to $5 million more in bonuses, and the sixth year of the contract is a player option.

Sixers general manager Ed Stefanski had no comment on the deal, which should be finalized sometime early next week.

Stefanski said repeatedly in the last five weeks that re-signing Iguodala was a "priority."

Making Iguodala a "priority" translated into a contract worth nearly as much as the blockbuster deal two-time All-Star power forward Elton Brand signed with the team in early July for approximately $82 million.

Last year, Iguodala rejected a five-year, $57 million contract extension offer from then Sixers GM Billy King in favor of seeing how things played out this summer.

Iguodala, out of Arizona, was the 76ers first-round draft pick (9th overall) in the 2004 NBA draft. Iguodala's scoring average has increased in each of his four NBA seasons: from 9.0 ppg as a rookie to 19.9 last season.

That's more than I was hoping he would get so hopefully Comcast will be ok with paying the tax in 4 years time when Brand and Iguodala's deals are huge are we need to re-sign Thaddeus Young.

Assuming Iguodala has an escalating deal, in 3 years the team will be paying Brand, Iguodala and Sam a combined 42M.  I wonder with all of that salary committed how willing they will be to replace Miller's big salary (or Sam when he expires and its time to pay Thad.)
