'koast,

I'm with you;  the 15-month sentence, to me, seems EXCEPTIONALLY light.  In fact, to me, it suggests that he was VERY important in providing information to the feds.

The light sentence, in my opinion, makes Stern out to look a little more crooked.

That has to be it.  He provided a lot of  information and I wonder how much the feds are watching the NBA with out making it known.

The reason I think it is light is if you were caught fixing casino games you would do a heck of a lot more then 15 months in prison.  You throw in good behavior and he does 8-9 months I bet.  That to me is a cake walk for all the money he made and problems he caused.

I heard on the news today that an extremely reliable and well-thought of FBI agent basically said just this about Donaghy. That he had never had such a remorseful guy who just wanted to redeem himself and get this over with. So Donaghy was very forthcoming in the interviews he had with him and his answers were very convincing. It has much to do with the sentence he received.

Also, I don't know if any of you are aware of this or not, but in the same news blurb <I heard it on this morning's radio, so no link yet> it was mentioned that the feds found out about Donaghy from an informant with the Gambino crime family, which was the main target of the federal investigation. The NBA fix was in from the Syndicate, apparently.

Complete vindication.

Jomal are any of the ex Angelenos who've become Sactown residents been able to be deprogrammed, now viewing the 2002 game 6 as the obvious fix it was?

I'm happy to report down here in SoCal, while still in the minority, a number have been successfully converted.  At the appropriate time i will ask you to drive as we kidnap WoW from a street corner and take him to a safe place to complete his deprogramming.

Sorry she bet on the Kings as that's what she foresaw.  ;)

The Gambinos, Stern, Buss and Kobme fixed it after her vision.

Jomal, the Gambino family will also need to be deprogrammed as they also knew so little about basketball that they thought the Lakers could win without their fixing it.  Thus they ingnored Miss Cleos and real NBA insighters clear vision of the Kings in 6.

So, do you want to pick up WoW and some Gambinos at the same time?  We could probably stop for lunch in between.  What kind of hood bags should we use?

Double bagging?

I haven't double bagged anyone since high school.

The Gambino investigation, BTW, was with Donaghy and what HE was up to. Don't know who backed the play regarding game six of 2002.

But the point of all this is that Donaghy got a lighter sentence because he talked....and someone <Feds> apparently listened. They found him very credible, in other words.
