The lakers were one of the best teams in the league before bynum went down and weren't that bad in the short time bynum was lost before gasol arrived, cause of that deep bench that might take a serious hit.

The key to the lakers early season success was the ascension of Andre Bynum, you know the guy that kobe wanted to trade for the cripple in jersey who also has a spotty history?

Thank you!  I guess what Dabods says about Philly fans isn't ALL true.

The Lakers were #1 in the WC a couple of times before the Gasol trade.

I would absolutely HATE for Ron Ron to join the Lakers for some of the same reasons already mentioned.  Plus, when a guy asks for time of from his multimillion dollar job so he can focus on his "rap" career he will cause me to dis-own ANY team I cheer for.

I hope the Lakers have nothing to do with Ron Ron.  I think it would be a big mistake to bring him into the mix.  IMO, after the Celtic beat down, if you told me the Lakers were adding an athletic, defensive minded SG/SF player who can hit the occasional 3 PLUS the Lakers also got a true 7 foot center who can put up 13/10 and bang in the paint as well as block shots and has no interest in 15 foot jumpshoots I would be happy and call it day.

IMO the Lakers don't need to make one SINGLE personnel move, all they need to do is come back healthy and the championship is theirs to lose.  Unfortunately it looks like Turiaf might be gone and the knee-jerkers are ready to ship Odom off.  Odom is going to be the 3rd option at BEST, most likely he will be the 4th option and probably the 2nd/3rd option with the SECOND unit.  If Buss is willing to spend bucks then keep the team together for another 3 years.

+1

Welcome back, WOW!

Thanks.

Did you goto the Cancun or Hawaii "Lakers got owned 2008" support group camp?  I went to the least expensive one in L.A. and it turned out to be an Old English 800 distribution center, I got ripped off!

GOOD NEWS, then.

Ron Ron has 'given up' on his rap career to concentrate on his other vocation, which has slipped my mind for the moment.

Doggie day care manager?

Anger management counselor?

Ron Ron is such a train wreck.  I don't believe this deal will go down and I'm hoping, no, praying this is just the Sac Bee picking up the rumors reported in the ESPN Insider which is rarely reliable information.  The word "cancer" gets thrown around a lot in pro sports, but I'm not sure there's ever been an example as fine as Ron Ron.  He has literally ruined the three teams he's played for and I'm certain he'd do it again on the Lakers.

No, I decided to attend the Brad Miller Raggae on the River Summer Camp and found that to be extremely fun and relaxing.  By the end of it, I couldn't even remember who played in the finals.  Perfect!  Is it November yet?

While i agree RonRon did in Indy, not sure how he did in Chicago and he certainly did not derail the Kings, they were sinking before his arrival.  He actually brought the Kings up his 1st season, helped scare the crap out of Poppycock in Round 1.

Dennis the Menace Rodman.
And that Phil Zenny guy was his coach also.........

But of course we know Kobe is not Jordan. ;)

* As a quick sidenote, Artest continues to routinely go on the air with KHTK's Carmichael Dave.
The latest from the Ron-Ron show: he's decided to change his name. OK, so technically he wants to go by his middle name of William. The thinking? Since Ron Artest is back to getting so much negative media coverage, maybe going by Bill - as he requested to be called - could give him a fresh start. Never a dull moment... - Sam Amick

^Jomal, Sam Amick is a Sac local sports media regular, right?

According to ESPN Ron has canned his representation and now is his own agent thinking he's getting traded soon...

Yeah, he writes for the Bee. And Ron was no don't kidding when he said that. He is quite the jokester when doing that radio show.

It was 'inferred' by one of the local media people who frequently talked to the agent that the guy was a few punks short of a gang. He clearly was not up to snuff in dealing with the issues and motivations of basketball people, such as Geoff Petrie, who he completely misread.

"Is Ron Artest crazy?" they ask.
"Are the Dallas Mavs crazy?" I ask.

Josh Howard for Ron Artest?
Done and done in my book.
I'm not giving up on Howards career, but for here and now his softness and reefer maddness addiction makes it a no brainer to do this trade while the Dirk window still exists.
