can coaches be traded
« on: June 23, 2008, 11:16:05 AM »
Like in the NFL, can NBA coaches be traded to another team?
If not traded, can the other team be forced to provide transportation.
What is the compensation if so?

^^ now that was seriously jacked up. :D
Other teams provide "compensation" is what i meant.  Not "transportation".

Like when Jon Gruden left the Raiders and went to coach Tampa Bay.
I thought the Raiders got draft picks and cash.

Yes.  Stan Van Gundy signing with Orlando while still under contract from Miami.

"But when the Magic and Heat reached a deal ? Orlando will send the 39th pick of the NBA draft to the Heat and give Miami the option of swapping first-round selections in 2008 ? it allowed Orlando to hire the only other coach it interviewed."

What would teams offer the Spurs for the great coach Popavich?
