Speaking of computers I feel really bad for people spending all this extra money on quad core chips for their desktops.

That's how I feel about people who bought PS3's since there are no games written to take advantage of the hardware.  $399 is not too bad a price for a Blue Ray DVD player with a game console thrown into the deal as an "adder".

There are games that are coming out that are going to use the power of the ps3 this year.    The difference is applications most people use for their computers will not be written within the next 3+ years to use multiple processors.  A lot of intense software such as CAD programs just caught up to utilizing dual core chips.  On top of that.  Programs such as word, firefox, and the like probably won't ever be written to take advantage of multiple processors.  Really why would they?  Yet people will continue to buy newer machines thinking it will be faster.

You can still get XP.  Dell is even pre-loading machines with non-Microsoft OS's.

Lenovo?  The Chinese company that took over IBMs laptops.  Were IMBs some of the best?  Did the quality come over with Lenovo?

They make some really nice laptops.  A little pricey but they do make quality laptops. Personally i'd get a Toshiba before one of those.  I've always had the best luck with Toshiba laptops.

When I was at a conference last year Lenovo was showing off this laptop that had almost like a roll cage type reinforcement in it.  The guy at the booth would turn off the laptop, put it on the ground, jump on it with both feet, then open it back up.  Came up perfectly fine.  If the Lakers continue to be a title contender it may be worth it as you will be throwing around your laptop  ;)

Lenovo is rated the top notebook by CNet I think.  I know Lenovo has a great rep but it is expensive.

Anyone seen those STUPID STUPID STUPID Windows Mojave commercials?  They make me sick to my stomach.  They are so staged.  I don't know regular people who get excited over any operating system.  When's the last time you heard of a regular 40 year old woman getting excited over a computer operating system?

The M-series ones are the models I have always used.  I had an M3 and then an M5.  Not sure what they are at now.  Those ones tend to have a bit more power but not a huge screen.  They are more for work then play.  The Qosimo's are the ones with the bigger screen, blu ray drives, etc.

^^ so get it from Slickdeals or Best Buy is coming down to $450 in some stores?  Dumb it down for me please.

Are the $1900 Sony models a bunch of hype or are they pretty good?  For example, money aside is this $1900 Sonys much more bangin then the above $450 Toshiba?
Sony Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 3GB RAM 500GB DVDRW Vista Bus 22-inch LCD Wireless
I mean duh even i can see the screen is much bigger, but i mean otherwise?.....
