Shortly, if not already, some news articles might be popping up in your local newspapers on California's population growth. My office has just released its annual press release on the population estimates for cities. <Which is why my current participation on the board has been spotty>
Some highlights include San Jose juuuust missing out becoming the tenth city in the U.S. to top 1 million people, Los Angeles topping out at almost 4,046,000, and San Francisco reaching its largest population size in history, (824,500).
My city, Sacramento, stands at 475,700, which is bigger then Oakland, but smaller then Fresno and Long Beach. If you are interested in where your city now stands population-wise, you can see it in our press release, or where it ranks in California from our web-page.
