Does anyone think the Celtics can be beaten this year?

Should they be planning a victory parade as we speak?  My opinion is yes.

No, I don't see them getting by Detroit.
On the set of Walker Texas Ranger Chuck Norris brought a dying lamb back to life by nuzzling it with his beard. As the onlookers gathered, the lamb sprang to life. Chuck Norris then roundhouse kicked it, killing it instantly. The lesson? The good Chuck giveth, and the good Chuck, he taketh away.

I think they could be overtaken by a Western Conference team.  The problem is by the time they see the squad that gets out of the West they (the WC team) are going to be beaten to death.

Not to jinx them or anything but it was just one game against the Hawks.  If for any reason one of the big 3 go down they are more then vulnerable.

I did not pick them in the Playoff Series thread of only a few days ago.  But after Game 1, I'm now on the Celts bandwaggon.

8 Atlanta at 1 Boston
7 Philadelphia at 2 Detroit
6 Toronto at 3 Orlando
5 Washington at 4 Cleveland

8 Denver at 1 LA Lakers
7 Dallas at 2 New Orleans
6 Phoenix at 3 San Antonio
4 Utah at 5 Houston

I am least confident in my Suns, Mavs and Cavs picks.  I would much rather have the Lakers face the Spurs, if the Lakers even make it that far, but I can not deny the thrill of a potential Kobe vs Shaq with the Lakers prevailing after being beat by the Suns two years in a row.

I can't read.  I'm so stupid I just got OWNED by WOW and he didn't even try!  :'(

All i picked was Boston over Atlanta.  Wow i really went on a stretch there.  But i said nothing about the Finals.  Self proclaimed ownage is weak, but i try it anyways.  Repeatedly.  It's like if i keep saying it maybe someone will believe it.  Randy will.

Back to your op, yes the Celtics can be beaten, not that they will.  I think Orlando will give them the most trouble.

I think it's possible they lose to detroit or a wc team, but I would have to put them as the favorite at this point.

If it's vs the Spurs i could see Gm 7 at Boston.  50-50, should be a great classic series and game.
If abc/espn/Lakers channel has already prearranged a Lakers-Celtics finals the Celts will lose that also.

It is not inconceivable, but unlikely.  The Celtics are as complete a team as there is in the NBA at this point, and they have few weaknesses.

I thought their guards were weak, but their backcourt is solid even with a young point in Rondo.

Garnett anchors the defense, and Pierce is unstoppable by one man.  Ray Allen makes other teams pay for doubling KG and PP.  Maybe if the Lakers get Bynum back they will have a shot, but even with him, the edge is clearly with Boston. I don't think Utah can handle the Celtics at this point.

No one in the East is good enough to stop Boston. Detroit isn't even making it out of the first round, meaning that the toughest opponent left for Boston is Orlando, who they won't see until the EC finals.  They will draw LeBron in the 2nd round.
