Down goes Pau! Down goes PAU! Gasol gets injured durring Hornets game.

Gasol sprains ankle.  They are not sure if it is a high ankle sprain or not.  Bad timming considering the upcomming road trip and matchup with the Rockets.  Thanks RadMan for being at the wrong place at the wrong time, looks like Pau came down on RadMan who was trailing him.

This would be horrible ANY time but right now with our upcoming schedule against top teams it couldn't come at a worse time.  The Lakers got outrebounded by 12 boards against the Hornets who aren't all that great a rebounding team.  This gives us nobody in the post offensively and we lose a lot with Gasol out.  Bynum, Gasol, Ariza -- we are horribly thin up front now -- it's amazing that the Lakers only lost by 10. 

The Lakers would have handled the Hornets with Gasol -- I sure hope he isn't out long -- if we can't get healthy, all playoff ambitions go right out the window.

Very tough break for the Lakers, who have been one of the great surprises of the year.  Even before they got Pau, the Lakers were winning a lot of games and playing so well, that Kobe didn't even want to be traded. When they got Gasol, it was a big lift for the team, even with the loss of Bynum.  This is just another set-back, it may cost the Lakers a spot or two, but before long both Pau amd Bynum will be back.

Not even close.  The Lakers have lost 3 centers, Bynum, Gasol and Mihm has been out most of the year.  So the Lakers have lost thier 1st thru 3rd string centers.  It would be fair if Deke goes down then whoever replaces Deke to go down as well.

Couldn't think that one through, could you?  Gasol isn't a center -- but he HAS played center -- for many years of his career (and he was with the Lakers) SINCE Bynum wasn't available.  Hmm, isn't that hard to understand, is it? 

The point is, the Lakers have lost more than HALF of their bigs (Bynum, Gasol, Mihm, Ariza) -- it leaves the Lakers pretty thin -- think of it like this:  it would be like the Spurs losing TD, Thomas and Fabs.  How well do you like the Spurs chances at that point!

I can't believe Sternfish did this so the Spurs could win the title again this year.  There is so much marketing money down in Texas that it's only making sense to make it a huge basketball mecca.

Oh, it will have to be at least that long, so we will flit from team to team as it suits, possibly on a weekly whim.
