Looks like the Mavs are joining the Suns in going "all in".

I think that is a mistake.  Kidd isn't the player he was, and although he would help Dallas, they can't afford to give up Dagsana Diop.

Seriously, Kidd is only shooting 36% from the field, and although he puts up a lot of assists, he's not a top 5 guard in the NBA anymore.  At this point, Andre Miller is a better player for a team that needs a point guard that can score and run a team.

the biggest mistake I see is if they send Harris and stackhouse in the trade, both have been a thorn in our sides, Kidd is good, but I ond't think this trade will really push Dallas over the top...
On the set of Walker Texas Ranger Chuck Norris brought a dying lamb back to life by nuzzling it with his beard. As the onlookers gathered, the lamb sprang to life. Chuck Norris then roundhouse kicked it, killing it instantly. The lesson? The good Chuck giveth, and the good Chuck, he taketh away.

Definitely.  I'd be more worried about facing Stackhouse and Harris than I would Kidd. Dallas needs someone better to match up with the Derron Williams and Chris Pauls of the league.

Talk of Stackhouse being bought out by New Jersey and re-signing with Dallas for cheap.

Stanks like the Gasol collusion, albiet to 1/100th of the degree.

This happens regularly, and is NOT collusion.

After all that work of getting the Mavs to become a more half court team and they go and pick up a guy who operates best on the fast break?  I dunno how I feel about the trade.  Harris is not on Kidd's level but at least he has a number of years to develop.  He's a very young guy.  George and Diop could go, no big deal lol.  George has been complaining about not getting enough playing time even though he is not that good of a player, go figure.

And Reality can we please stop talking like every trade is done in some back room where Stern takes a cut of some cash to make sure it goes through.  Stop being lame.

Stop being lame.

You might as well ask Wesley Snipes to stop being black, Woodey Allen to stop being Jewey or Ted to stop marrying 15 year olds.

These two just missed the list:
George Bush to stop being dumb
PS3 to stop being inferior to XBox 360

Just goes to show how money talks with almost any NBA player.  Kidd had the opportunity to sign with the Spurs a few years back.  The Spurs then and NOW have a better shot at a title than the current Mavs with Kidd on the Spurs roster.  Looks like Kidd wants to have his cake and eat it too, sign for big money for the Nets then ask to be traded to a contender.

If they are doing the "all in" move then I agree that giving up Diop hurt the Mavs if they need to face the Spurs, Lakers or Jazz.  The biggest threat this move causes is to the Lakers and Suns.  Kidd is not quick enough to stay in front of Spurs or Jazz PG's but at least he can post them up or see over them quite easily but against the Lakers and Suns PG's he can do both guard them on defense and overmatch them on offense.

This isn't a trade, it is Cuban Miss-isle Crisis.

enough that there's a clause in the NBA specifically covering it:

The Sixers did it a few years back (with Coleman, IIRC).

I sure am Anti-Spur when I just was arguing with Rick about them being one of two teams to beat in the league lol

And honestly Reality did you need to make an alias named Collusion 2008???

This isn't a trade, it is Cuban Miss-isle Crisis.

Very witty for an old man lol

LOL, I saw that too a week ago but, much like watching an episode of CHIPs, I was too embarrised for the guy on the other side of the screen to say anything.

"I feel great. I get 30 days to rest, then I'll be right back," Stackhouse said. "I ain't going nowhere."
Sure smacks of 1/100th collusion to me.

Okay so after 30 days, in what way is he transferred back to Dallas?  Waived?  If so doesn't he have to clear other teams?  Traded back?
