I'm with WayOut on this one, Reality.  When discussing Dallas's old "Big 3," how could one not know that folks were referring to Finley, Nash, and Nowitzki, since all of them were All-Star Level players - Finley even being a selection for USA Basketball's 2002 World Championship of Basketball team?
Oh i "knew" that Dallas area and other fluffball affectionado folks refered to their own threesome as the Big 3.
But WoW posted it as if he embraced the idea that they were a legit Big 3, ala Duncan-Parker-GNob or Bird-McHale-Parrish or even Magic-Kreem-Worthy in the Mild Mild West of 80s.  I didn't think he espoused fluffball.
Good players all, Dirk-Nash-Finley very good.  Dirk n Nash top 25 for sure.
But if we are talking Championship ball, really just a bunch of stats with no defense, Phx East.  Granted they were in the loaded West several of those misses.  Can't believe you Joe would not agree with me on that.

Joe!!!??  You're wanting Joe to get your back on this?  Bwaaaahahahaha.  Nash and Finley are 2 of Joe's favorite players in the entire NBA.

If anyone believes that you "knew", I have a bridge for sale back east.

What is the title of this thread?

Didn't realize the title of this thread was "Championship basketball".  Thanks for clearing that up.  LOL at your attempted spinning, just admit you don't have a clue.

I don't recall Joe taking the Phx loss to San Antonio last year as WoW did and continues to.

Then, for the record, you're getting senile.

I believe that the league office absolutely robbed Phoenix when they didn't suspend Duncan under the same rules they suspended Stoudemire and Diaw under.  They took a great playoff series and turned it into a microcosm of everything that is wrong with the rules and officiating of the league.

The correct measure would be to suspend Stoudemire and Diaw for something like 5 games during this season, so as not to encourage head-hunting of stars come playoff time.

You don't know the rules.

But I agree that Duncans getting off because he got up when there was not an altercation vs Stoudamires and Diaws gettng run because there was an altercation is defense liarish crap.  But that was and is the rule, clearly explained and agreed upon by Phx mgmnt and players both before the playoffs and afterwords at the competition committee rules meeting.  Phx agreed and did no lobbying for change.

Rule should be players stay on bench, period.

Why the hell are the Celtics and Lakers being brought up in a Dallas thread?

Personally I really enjoy when the board ventures into discussions about teams like Dallas, Utah, Philly, and others a bit more.  Please stop ruining the thread Reality.

Honestly one thing I never thought was going to happen with Dallas is I never expected them to continue to be atop the league once Nash left.  Never would I have thought they would win as many games as they did last year losing someone as talented as Nash.

LMFAO at your attempted spinning.  I need a receipt cause you are "owned".
You are really proud of your knowing the Dallas Mavs of 2000-2004 or so had a *Big 3* that included Michael Finely.
Good Lord.  Even if i did not know that tiny piece of trivia what is the signifigance?
Rrrrrraaaagh you owned me, you know that the Dallas Suns had Findawg as #3.

Reality's list of new years resolutions for 2008:

Think of better jokes.
Assassinate Kobe after obtaining tickets from a scalper at Staples.
Decide next team to move onto after Duncan retires in 2012.

No signifigance at all, the REAL signifigance is you don't want to admit you didn't know and tried to SPIN to the outer cosmos rather than admit you didn't "knew".

Rrrrrraaaagh you owned me, you know that the Dallas Suns had Findawg as #3.
I've been owned.

You own me on that one cause I had NO CLUE that Dalls had the Suns, my clueless butt thought Dallas had the Mavericks.  Must admit, OWNED!
