Geeze, Boston 82 New York 41 after 3 quarters.
« on: November 29, 2007, 10:06:56 PM »
There needs to be some kind of mercy clause in the NBA for games like this.  When will Boston get tested?  I can't believe they lost to the Cavs, Gooden and Big Z are not chopped liver but NO way those two plus Bron should come close to KG, Allen and Pierce.

Boy Isaih's great idea of Curry and ZBo down low being the savior for NY isn't working so well tonight.  They are a combined 2-18 from the floor with 5 rebounds.

Did I hear Mr. Bite say they were up by 50 until Nate Robinson bombed 3 pointers?!?!?

Orlando and Cleveland have challenged them but no one else.  I just think the match ups with those two teams are the only ones where it is in their favor.

if Kevin Garnett doesn't win the DPOY award this year, the whole thing's a sham. Besides the fact that he's turned two subpar defenders in Pierce and Allen into a defensive juggernaut, so far this year he's held his man to a 10.5 PER, 12.6 pp48, and 35.3% eFG%. That's historically good. By comparison, last year the man Camby (DPOY) was defending had a 17.6 PER, 18.0 pp48 and 50.7 eFG%

What a difference having a legit anchor does for a players ability to gamble and play better defense.  Ray Allen's defense has not improved at all.  It's just that he has learned that if he barely stays in front of his man and pushes him to the right spots KG will do the rest.  I call it the Ron Harper defense lol

I agree with you though.  KG is even better then he has been in previous years.  I didn't think it was possible to get any better then he already is but he has this team playing at a high level.  He should be in the running for MVP as well...2 all stars on his squad or not.

Garnett looks better because he is playing with two other guys who can't do what he does, but excel at other aspects of basketball. This is an excellent example of getting three above average players on the same team who do not step on each others' toes out on the court, but complement each other instead.

Ainge actually accomplished something with this assortment of players.

I agree.  I've always thought they fit well together.
