Is the extra few million really all worth it?
Has not been for the other college to pro jumpers like Rick Patino, Mike Montgomery.

It's Donovans life.  I think he will rue the day he jumped, unless he knows of some Kobe to the Magic deal.
Then he will really rue it.   :D  Just kidding Laker Fans.

Update:  Here are some more.  Of good college coaches turned pro who has it worked for?

Looks like Donovan is not going to the Magic.  Apparently he changed his mind and the Magic let him out of his contract.  Strange.....

Yeah I haven't read the details but it's pretty confusing.  Other coaches have changed their minds.  For example, a couple months ago Dana Altman left Creighton for Arkansas, then changed his mind the next day.  This is probably the most high profile case though.

I heard that Orlando kind of coerced Donovan into immediately signing the contract without consulting his network of people for advice. Then he did a farewell news conference at Florida and I guess he realyzed he wasn't ready to leave there.

I think we can all relate to sometimes you don't know what you've done until you've done it.
I hope the Magic let him out and he continues on at Florida.  He certainly has earned his right for FL to recieve him back, which they will happily do.

Legal babel now being worked out.  He can't coach in the NBA for 5 years.  I think that is very gracious of The Magic.  I'd go for 10.

It's 5 years on paper but I'd be suprised if he ever was to be a coach in this league again.  I don't think any team is going to want to pick him up after this.
