Finley with back spasms...game time decision to play

Breaking news....

Quote
Richard Oliver: Spurs at Suns, Game 2
Express-News columnist Richard Oliver is in Phoenix for the Western Conference semifinals series between the Suns and Spurs:

Pregame

• It is expected to be a game-time decision whether Michael Finley plays tonight. He suffered back spasms during the morning shootaround, hitting the court in pain, but got up quickly and was able to walk off under his own power.

If he doesn't play, it would mean more playing time for backup Brent Barry and, in particular, Manu Ginobili. Barry has played only 51 minutes in the postseason, hitting only three field goals. Ginobili is averaging 12.5 points and 5.7 rebounds, below his season averages in what has been a disappointing playoff campaign.

Finley, however, has been on a resurgent tear during the postseason, averaging 16.5 points and 3.7 rebounds. He scored 19 points in the series-opening victory on Sunday.

uuughh...Spurs are trying to run with the Suns...they need to stop that.  so fare second quarter is horrible, tim has 3 fouls.  come on guys slow it down in the second half.
On the set of Walker Texas Ranger Chuck Norris brought a dying lamb back to life by nuzzling it with his beard. As the onlookers gathered, the lamb sprang to life. Chuck Norris then roundhouse kicked it, killing it instantly. The lesson? The good Chuck giveth, and the good Chuck, he taketh away.

Finley played well.
Barry playing scared.

Are Fins back spasms just a momentary injury or is this some ongoing concern?

This needs to be pinned up top...closest we will get to Reality actually living up to his handle.   ;)

Yesterday was the first report of any problems.  Hopefully just a minor thing that won't flare up again.

If Finley can't play, the Spurs are done, done, done!!

Replacement player, Brittany Barry, can't play with skirts on.

"Rum and Gum" Spurs can't keep up with the "Run and Gun" Suns.

D'Antoni vs Popazit - Can you say, "Creds vs Meds"?

"Nash"ville, Tennis-si! snorts buggers in the general direction of to-NEE, parQUER, who draws a Magin-"O" Line in the sand, hoping the HUN,.. er SUN,.. won't cross it.

Are we there yet?

Nice French reference there JoMal, subtle enough to weed out the the neanderthals and astute enough to draw a smile from yours truly.

If the Spurs do lose this series, no doubt the white flag factor from their point guard will be a big reason, that and Manu's laying on the floor writhing in pain from a tap on the shoulder

Totally agree.

'Tis indeed a good thing for the Spurs sake the Mavericks did not advance, because that Magin O line in the sand wouldn't have stopped their particular Hun from crossing, apparently only Warriors can stop him, never the French.

I am glad there are a couple of people here waaaaay older than me like you and Rolando, JoMal, Woodrow and his "cough" were just slightly before my time.

Finley looked to be the only guy who had it going on the offensive end that game.

Barry?  A few rushed and clanked 3s that I felt screwed with their chance to make a push.  He tried to be a Phoenix Sun instead of a San Antonio Spur with that turn over to rushed 3 attempt.

Finley > Barry...9 out of 10 real laker fans and real spurs fans agree.

Key to Barrdogs regaining his shooting touch may be music.

"It's like going to the dance club," Barry said. "Sometimes it takes until the third song before you're really in a good groove. They play a Bee Gees song, and that just doesn't do it. Then it's KC & the Sunshine Band, and it gets your toes tapping, and then they come with Earth, Wind & Fire, singing 'Remember, it was the 21st day of September ...' and you're just up and dancing."
