Will even one bunnyhop be called this playoffs?
« on: May 08, 2007, 12:42:36 AM »
Continuing on from this thread about the NBAs claim to crack down on bunnyhopping:
http://www.phillyarena.net/forums/index.php?topic=3628.0

Golden State 110 Utah 109
Deron Williams drives left side and picks up his dribble as he crosses the foul line.   Takes one huge step, goes completely airborne, lands on both feet just outside of the little arc, jumps up again and forward towards the hoop, plows over set Steven Jackson for the hoop.  (Jackson was just inside of the little arc).
Obvious bunny hop.  TNT replayed it in slow mo 2Xs.
At 1st Dick Stockton thought Barron Davis fouled out.  No, the foul called on Jackson.  Williams not only gets the hoop counted but the FT for 2+1.  Utah 112-GS 110.  I'm hardly saying the game hinged on this, just that it was a cruicial point and after the NBA said they were going to clamp down on this, travelling and arguing calls i have yet to see one bunnyhop called.

Also, Williams is hardly the only NBA player to keep hoppin in the playoffs.  AI, Parker, Kobester, Nash on and on.  I've yet to see it called once.  Have you?  What gives?

Yes, I've seen them call it a number of times.  Not as many times as there were infractions.  They've let traveling slide ever since Jordan became a star.  They took away the cross over, and started calling people for shuffling their feet.

Be careful what you ask for, reality, When TD posts, I see him pick up his pivot foot.  That's a travel.

Thats an understatement.  You've seen it called a number of times?
This season LordSternfish alleged would be a clampdown.  Has not happened.

If the entire league was going to be called along with Duncan i would rejoice.

How about a ramble or a trot? A sally or a saunter? A caper or a capriole? A traipse or a troop?

It was more of a galloop.

More of a ramble then a trot, not quite a saunter a bit more sally, near caper but not so much a capriole with a pinch of a troop.

By your definition 'Koast, it was closer to a pirouette, didn't know Williams was that light in the loafers
