Knicks are doing okay.
« on: January 31, 2007, 12:45:43 AM »
We thought perhaps the Knicks would send off Isaiah Thomas in grand style, by losing possibly Odem to the Bulls in another of Zeke genius moves (traded away the Knicks 1st pick in the upcoming draft).

Alas, after beating the Lakers the Knicks are now 20-27.
Much better then the 20-62 some of us thought very possible and even probable.

Is Zeke doing an okay job with this team?

Would you want to play for the Knicks?

No, and no.

Twisty, will you ever comment on the assertations you make.
Ie Radman "got the ball on a lucky tip" to sink the game tying 3?
On and on.
Spend time on those as opposed to just disappearing and making stuff up here.

Previous thread had both dabods and W.O.W. thinking the coup de gras for Zekes screw ups could well be the upcoming draft whereupon he has already traded the pick away.

I would love to read everything you said but you proved my point....

You want this to be a Laker related thread and it is the sole reason you made this thread.  Like I said, you are not really that slick  ;D

No, I would not want to play for him either. :D
Can't find the thread on search, but earlier wow and dabods and others were talking about how Zekes trading the pick and at the time NYs 3-12 start (or whatever it was) made it look like Bulls would have one of the top 3 picks via NY trade.
WOW was imagining what would happen if that pick turned out to be #1 and Odem, thereby *cementing* Zekes legacy.
Compared to 20-62, 20-27 is fantastic.

Hey y'all!

The LAT ran a pretty good article on Isiah yesterday - here's the link:

http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-knicks30jan30,1,1192275.story

I've never liked Isiah since his college days at Indiana (he was tainted by my disdain for Knight), so it's easy for me to understand why he is shunned by the press.

Serves him right for all of those things he said about Maj...

Go Spurs...LOL

Hey, Rolando...if you're going to post on this thread, you need to update your name.  It's Renaldo Balkman, now!

Hey...there we go...there's the ex-Knick to serve as the new Knicks coach...Rolando Blackman.  Would make for a pretty good situation, I think.

Hey JoeV!!!

Goodonyah...as a fellow old-schooler, a name came to my mind that probably only you out of everyone else here will recall.

Do you remember Larry Kenon?

And i definitely agree with you, I am surprised that Rolando Blackman is not a head coach somewhere in the NBA-verse.

Special K!  RB, I always knew you were truly a Spurs fan at heart...even when distracted by all that Diesel smoke that covered LA.
It riles them to believe that you perceive the web they weave.  Keep on thinking free.

Hey Lurker!

Actually, as an old-time ABA fan I liked the Spurs a lot, even before the NBA/ABA merger.  After the merger, they were (and still are) the most successful of the four surviving ABA teams.  Are you kiddin me' (as Jim Mora would say)?!  Artis Gilmore, George Gervin, Larry Kenon, Billy Paultz, James Silas - this would be a dominant line-up to this day.

Do you remember how when you were a kid that Diesel exhaust smelled good?  At least it did, to me - I guess I was meant to be a Shaq fan from an early age...LOL

Hey RB,
want to read a very interesting ABA/NBA merge fact?
http://espn.go.com/nba/s/2001/1213/1295194.html
This link has some more details:

The Silna brothers and deal they got (still have) when the NBA/ABA merge forced out the St Loius Spirit.
