If the team loses and he scores 10 pts w/10 assists - he's nothing without Shaq.
If he gets 10 assists in a game this year, that will impress me as much as his 81.
He would be joining
DWade
Allen Iverson
LeBron James
G. Arenas
Vince Carter
Tracy McGrady
Chauncey Billups
Boris Diaw
Paul Pierce
Miller, Mike
you know, the guards who shoot.
Reality I don't get your post, but that's nothing new.
If Kobe averaged 10/10 and the Lakers went 34-48 and ended up the 12th seed in the West, you know as well as I do people would be rousting Kobe for not being able to carry a team. Yeah, the selfish stigma would dissipate, but then the focus would shift to the "he's nothing without Shaq", "it was a bad trade", yada, yada, yada.
Bottom line is Kobe is going to do whatever it takes to win. Everyone involved wants it to be more like the first 3/4 of December where he was getting 7,8,9 assits and scoring in the 20's. We all want that, fans, coaches, teammates and Kobe. Hopefully, as a team they can develop that balance, but until they get it on a consistent basis there are going to be nights like Sunday where Kobe says "ef it, I tried to get everyone involved in the first half, NO ONE is stepping up, so I will".
I'd rather have 62 pts and 0 assists and a 'W', then 25 pts 15 assists and a 'L'. It's definitely not my preferred method to accomplish the 'W', but it beats the heck out of the alternative.
