The season is into about six weeks. Who will the first coach to be fired this season?
My guess is Adelman. Anyother in more trouble?
The debate in Sacramento is over when would be the optimum timing for firing Adelman. Not that he really is the whole problem, but he certainly would be the easiest and most cosmetic action they could take.
But the core players that the King's management thought they could build around, (Bibby, Peja, and Miller), have absolutely no court leadership, little atheletism, and never talk seriously about the team's biggest problem - defense - other then to say they really should, maybe, try it some day.
But Adelman is clearly coaching with a bit of fear these days. His bench rotation is getting weirder by the day, so no one really knows who is going to play and who is not. The best (or I should say, the most useful) players, like Williamson and Skinner, hardly ever get into the games because they are not good fits in the Adelman Princeton offense.
Since neither are Peja, Bibby, and to some degree Miller, what difference does THAT make?
The Kings have perfected the "panic" pass when things start to fall apart, where someone (lately Miller), drives weakly into the lane and tries to pass the ball back out into a wall of defenders. Since a "wall of defenders" are never there during King's practises, whoever is making this play is never ready for the consequences.
I like nostalgia as much as anyone, but the "good ole' days" of King's basketball, I was hoping, would NOT include the early 90's.
