Who is the first coach to be fired

The season is into about six weeks. Who will the first coach to be fired this season?

My guess is Adelman. Anyother in more trouble?

Sam Mitchell, Raptors

He is already working for the Lakers to get Chris Bosh in LaLa.

The debate in Sacramento is over when would be the optimum timing for firing Adelman. Not that he really is the whole problem, but he certainly would be the easiest and most cosmetic action they could take.

But the core players that the King's management thought they could build around, (Bibby, Peja, and Miller), have absolutely no court leadership, little atheletism, and never talk seriously about the team's biggest problem - defense - other then to say they really should, maybe, try it some day.

But Adelman is clearly coaching with a bit of fear these days. His bench rotation is getting weirder by the day, so no one really knows who is going to play and who is not. The best (or I should say, the most useful) players, like Williamson and Skinner, hardly ever get into the games because they are not good fits in the Adelman Princeton offense.

Since neither are Peja, Bibby, and to some degree Miller, what difference does THAT make?

The Kings have perfected the "panic" pass when things start to fall apart, where someone (lately Miller), drives weakly into the lane and tries to pass the ball back out into a wall of defenders. Since a "wall of defenders" are never there during King's practises, whoever is making this play is never ready for the consequences.

I like nostalgia as much as anyone, but the "good ole' days" of King's basketball, I was hoping, would NOT include the early 90's.

It's going to be Sam Mitchell in Toronto, as Gene Keady (former Purdue coach) has already accepted the job for the Raptors.  MISTAKE!

Also look for Mike Woodson to be in the hot seat in Atlanta if things don't get better soon.

Stan Van Gundy
On the set of Walker Texas Ranger Chuck Norris brought a dying lamb back to life by nuzzling it with his beard. As the onlookers gathered, the lamb sprang to life. Chuck Norris then roundhouse kicked it, killing it instantly. The lesson? The good Chuck giveth, and the good Chuck, he taketh away.

Sam Mitchell, I say.

And I expect Lawrence Frank to be on the hot seat in New Jersey.

What % did the following have a say:

Riley
The Big A
Van Gundy himself.

Van Gundy has looked really run down about a week ago.  Wonder how long this has been decided.

Family reasons?  What - one of the members of his family continually beat Pat Riley in the playoffs?  Is that the kind of "family reason" they're talking about ?

Yes, Miami is underachieving, but I can't help but think the wrong Van Gundy was fired.

Re-Correction:  We were ALL wrong!!

As to Reality's question:

Riley - 99.95%
Shaq - 00.04%
SVG  - 00.01%    <-- because he's a genuinely good guy.

What an awesome way to get me to STOP cheering for the Heat, Riles, it was weird there for a year or so.

Hmm, does Riles think that he can do a better job than Stan Van Gundy?

I certainly don't think so!  He MIGHT do a better job with Shaq -- but I think he would be too confrontational.  He DEFINATELY would hurt Shaq on the court because his practices are GRUELING and Shaq won't be able to handle it (he's knees already have enough problems sustaning his weight).

I think Riles is a BIG mistake -- the problem is?  Who else can they get at this point?

Actually, you know who could REALLY benefit from this?  JVG!  He could DEFINATELY use some help coaching!!!  Would he hire his brother as head coach and become the assistant?
