Carter (keeper)
Okafor (keeper)
Grant Hill
Z
Sam Cassell
Boozer
Alston
KMart
Antonio Daniels
Raja Bell
Mihm
Posey
Gadzuric
Van Horn

Overall I am fairly happy.  Hill was one of the players I was targeting in the first 2 rounds.  He puts up decent numbers in several categories.  And with Z my top four all shoot the ball well and give good numbers in at least two additional categories.

Cassell was a best PG left situation....but he also usually does well in his first year in a new city.

Boozer I think will rebound this year...both figuratively and literally.  And for the 6th round was a good value.

Alston was my gamble pick...hoping that with Yao & TMac that he will pick up a few assists.  And not be thinking he has to score a lot.

KMart in the 8th...even loaded with PFs I couldn't pass that one up.

Antonio Daniels will get decent minutes in Washington and should play both guard positions.

Raja Bell....3 pts + shooting %.  Nash will make him look good in the Valley of the Sun.

Mihm, Posey & Gadzuric....all solid contributors for those nights when I am looking to fill out my roster.  Hopefully all 3 will be multi positional.

Van Horn....I needed a true SF besides Hill.  And with the 14th pick it wasn't that bad of a gamble.

Overall I went in with two criteria....I wanted players that can be listed at multiple positions.  And I wanted to try not to double or triple up on any one NBA team.  I definately met the second criteria as I have 14 different teams represented.  And I think I did well with the first.
It riles them to believe that you perceive the web they weave.  Keep on thinking free.

Lurker,

I think it was a mistake to take Grant Hill so early.  Instead of Hill, you could have gotten the likes of a Stephon Marbury, Steve Francis, Chauncey Billups, or Kirk Hinrich for your point, and used your 5th round pick for Grant Hill, who'd have still been there.  Hill might have even been there in round 7.

With Carter being injury-prone, Okafor's back acting up on him again, Hill hurt already, and aching/aging Sam Cassell, and Ilgauskus (who missed his entire rookie year, 45 of 50 games in 98-99, the entire 1999-2000 season, 58 games in 00-01, and 20 games in 01-02),  I think you're taking some awfully big chances in early rounds while bona fide stars are out there.

After having a few days to second guess myself, I am not as happy now as I was at the time of the draft.  Don't get me wrong, I like the players I took in my first 10 rounds, plus Jasikevicius, but I am not sure I like my team as much.
My logic has always been to go with talent first, and worry about positions later.  That is critcally important in rounds 1-6, but in this draft I think I went with this to far.
I went with Josh Smith when I should have went with KMart, and I went with Gooden when I should have gone with PJ Brown.  I went with Theo when I should have went with Kamen.  In each case if I would have responded differently, I could have got a capable replacement later in the draft.  With Josh Smith I should have passed on him, and the taken Deng or Childress later.  I like Smith, but in the end I would have been better served to pass on him, and done things differently.

In my opinion though I think this is a much more difficult draft to handicap than in the past.
Caleb will have a much better team this year than last year.
Skander will also be greatly improved.
I think WayOutWest did really well also.  I haven't studied his team in depth, but I really felt during the draft that he was building a very solid team.
I also think this was Randy's best draft so as well.
Ted had the 2 best keepers IMO, and I also think he had a nice draft.

This very well be the year I don't make the playoffs.

Looking back at the draft, I AM a little surprised K-Mart lasted as long as he did.  Right before he was taken by BBF with the first pick in the eighth round, I was sort of eyeing him myself, surprised at the fact a guy with over a steal and a block per game last year lasted into the eighth round.

It is not over till after the games Sunday.  Through Thursday it is tied, 5-5-1.  In looking at the schedule Ted has 17 player games, and I have 17 player games, but Ted has 2 games remaining with everyone on his roster, but I have 2 games with veeryone except Dirk, who only has 1 game.  As a result I would have to give the edge to Ted.  I think he will win 6-5 or 7-4.  I will let you know the final tally on Monday.

As of Friday WayOutWest is thumping the defending champ (ittks) 9-0-2.  We may have teh 3rd shut out in league history on our hands.

Regular Season Standings
Rank Team W-L-T WPct GB Last Week Waiver Moves
 1  Genghis's PolarBears 22-10-1 .682
 2  Randy's Wannabes 22-11-0 .667
 3  ziggy's beagles 20-12-1 .621
 4  Archangel's Red Team 19-12-2 .606 (Skander)

 11  SithLord-DarthFerret 10-23-0  (Spurs 3X)
 12  Lurking BskBallers 9-23-1 .288 (Lurker)

Last Week

ziggy's beagles 6  The Bigs (by Ted) 4
I did surprisingly well, better than I expected.  We tied in FT made, and I just lost in FT% (.750 to .721) thanks solely to Lamar Odom and Brad Miller who were 3-11 yesterday), and lost points by 511-522.  With just a little luck I could have gone 9-2, but it was not to be.  Ted has a very good team, I felt very lucky to come out on top.

 Bods Ballers 2  Archangel's Red Team 8

 Genghis's PolarBears 8  SithLord-DarthFerret 3

 Lurking BskBallers 2  Randy's Wannabes 9

 Wolverine's Claws 6  jerry lewis 5

 Terror Dome vs 5  lttkpart3 6

This week
 ziggy's beagles vs  Randy's Wannabes

 Bods Ballers vs  Lurking BskBallers

Genghis's PolarBears vs  Archangel's Red Team

 SithLord-DarthFerret vs lttkpart3

Wolverine's Claws vs The Bigs (by Ted)

 Terror Dome vs jerry lewis

This week is no easier for me.  I go from Ted who was ranked #1, to Randy who is second by a 1/2 game.  I do have a 4 game advantage this week, which should help me a little.

How would you best describe this Fantacy league.

Results based mostly on chance and circumstance.
Results based mostly on skill.

We dont care about the results, we're just having fun.

Results are in Fantasy sports are like life, based upon effort, preperation, and skill.  You don't put in the effort and you will not have success.  Little in life comes from luck, most come from hard work, preperation, understanding how to be successful, and doing your best to be successful, and developing the skills to be successful.

I play to win.  I have fun with it, and I do it because I enjoy it, but I do my best to win.  Of course I haven't won it yet.
