NO.

They are able to attract a lot of capital in this environment, but they are not essential.  There's nothing they do that is unique, or so much better than others.

Easy credit creation makes a lot of companies more successful than they deserve to be based on what they do.

One of these days they will be well worth shorting as there stock price starts to reflect the reality of what they are.

I'm with you on this one.  As an investment opportunity, Google is a disaster waiting to happen.  At $300/share, and paying no dividend, I don't see why anyone is still in this stock!  In the past year, it's been as low as $111.65, and this is the kind of stock that could drop to that (or lower) TOMORROW.

Give me stocks that pay dividends, increase those dividends over time, that have a history, and that represent a facet of the economy that isn't going away for some reason.  Google fails on every one of those factors!
