As many of you are aware, starting Jan 1, 2005, all cell phone numbers will be made public to telemarketing firms. This means that as of Jan 1, you may start receiving calls from telemarketers, but unlike our landline phones, most of us pay for incoming calls. These telemarketing calls will eat up free minutes and end up costing money and wasting our time.


According to the National Do Not Call List, you have until Dec. 15th
2004 to get on the national "Do not call list" for cell phones. You can either
call 1-888-382-1222 from the cell phone that you wish to have put on the
"do not call list" or you can do it online at www.donotcall.gov https://www.donotcall.gov

Clarification.  It's still good to be on a do not call list for telemarketers but cell phone #'s will NOT be given to telemarketers and there's no deadline for the list.

These kinds of e-mails drive me crazy.  Send this along an Microsoft will give you a $50 gift certificate to Outback Steakhouse/DisneyWorld!   Febreeze will kill your pets!  There's a wave of people getting AIDS from infected needles stuck in theatre seats!

Not to mention all the ridiculous political ones.

This was actually sent from accounting to all the IT staff because we all have phones (obviously) that the company pays for.  Then someone sent it to EVERYONE company wide.  I've only been asked by 40-50 people if I think they should get themselves on the list.
