Some thoughts for Bush supporters
« on: November 05, 2004, 05:36:09 PM »
A message forwarded to me today.....

To all Bush supporters, wherever you are:

When your child, husband or dear friend is sneaked back into the country from Iraq in a flag draped coffin, Don't blame me I voted for Kerry

When your daughter dies from a botched back alley abortion, Don't blame me I voted for Kerry

When your loved one is maimed or killed by a negligent doctor and you are denied justice in court, Don't blame me I voted for Kerry

When your favorite stream or lake becomes so polluted you can no longer fish or swim in it, Don't blame me I voted for Kerry

When your job is given to someone in a third world country, Don't blame me I voted for Kerry

When you are denied the Social Security benefits you were promised and paid for all your working life, Don't blame me I voted for Kerry

When you pay $4 a gallon for gasoline to one of Bush's other supporters, Don't blame me I voted for Kerry

They say you get the government you deserve- it's just too damn bad the rest of us have to get the government YOU deserve.

But hey, look on the bright side, at least you're safe from Osama Bin Laden! Oh, Whoops! He's still out there, isn't he- mocking YOUR president and hero.

Just trying to start the healing process, you know.    :rofl:

Poor Lurker . . .

. . . forced to live in the USA where your son might die if he chooses to serve to his country (what happened to the military being a vacation job?); your daughter can't get a free abortion when she doesn't want to tell you about her sex life; you're forced to see doctors who are murdering sadists totally above the law; you're surrounded by garbage and every stream and lake is a polluted cesspool; you have to seek an education because your third-world job is going to the third-world; you have to endure someone at least TRYING to fix the already-broken SS system rather than ignore its impending downfall like your DEFEATED candidate; you have to pay $4 per gallon of gas for your luxury SUV (which is the only vehicle in which your San Antonio ass can fit); you have to accept what the majority chooses; and you have to live with the fact that your country's greatest enemy records threatening messages as he cowers in a Pakistani mountain range . . . oooh! Scary!

Man, your life is HELL.

P.S. I don't care if you didn't write it. The sour grapes are starting to ferment in to vintage WHINE.  :rofl:

why is it the Demo's say "YOUR president"  that is so childish, Bush is our OUR president, right or wrong.  the healing process is not o the republicans to set right with the democrats, they are the majority - to me it is up to the democrats to adjust and comprimise with the rest of the country - i know you dont like hearing it, but to me i see that as true.  that is not to say the repubs SHOULDNT  find a middle ground, but this hatred and angre needs to be redirected into somethig more useful, during the campaign it was more times than not some crazy arse democrat shooting or trying to run down some republican supporters - or that could also be the press that made it seem that way.  either way, Bush is OUR president.  i would like to see all those amer4icans that threatened to leave the US and move to europe or Canada actually walk the walk and LEAVE if that is what they really had the guts to do...for the record, if Kerry had won, i wouldnt have said he was "YOUR president" or threatened to leave the country, i would just accept the fact that he is the president and go on with my life.

this is not directed at you lurker, i know you didnt write this, but it does make me wonder about the whole healing process of our country...

Ted, agreed with your other points but the following show that you are uninformed about the truth:

Quote
your daughter can't get a free abortion when she doesn't want to tell you about her sex life; you're forced to see doctors who are murdering sadists totally above the law;

Ted, hopefully your daughter or loved one will never be raped because per the ideal Bush regime an abortion would be illegal regardless of cercumstance.  Rape, incest, danger to the moms life.  Nothing sickens me more than irresponsible women using the murder of babies as a form of birth control but there are definately justifiable reasons to have an abortion.

Quote
you're surrounded by garbage and every stream and lake is a polluted cesspool;

Bush has repealed about 30 enviromental laws, including major componenets of the clean air act in order to allow his friends in the indutrial sector free reign to continue their ways and ignore the laws put in place for them to clean up their act.  There are 19 NINE FUCKEN TEEN states in the union where the ground water has so much mercury in it that it would cause mental problems for every 1 in FIVE infants of mother injesting fish from the lakes/rivers/streams in these states.  There are tons of other ailments that go along with mercury in our bodies.  One in every three americans has some sort of asthma (sic?).

Quote
you have to seek an education because your third-world job is going to the third-world;

Ted, I'll put up my education and smarts up against yours any day of the week.  Please tell me how much education you need to write a platform independant, real time data aquistion system in Visual C++ (or object oriented approach equivalent) to monitor life support equipment over wireless ethernet?  You wouldn't know were to fucken start yet those types of jobs are being sent over sees because you can pay 5 inferior third world programmers to do an "adequet" job for about half the price you pay an american after all the kick backs and "perks" you get from our goverment.  I'm very glad to see a backlash in outsourcing technical jobs oversees, not because I have anything against other countires, but because in the end you get an inferior product and support.

Please, get informed before you try to "step".  The NASCAR/Religous contingency that's the republicans core right now rarely has a handle on the truth and/or facts.

Bush is my president, and I will support him. I'm not as angry anymore, probably because I hated Bush and didn't like John Kerry,but just as there were 53 million people who voted for him, there were 50 plus million who voted against him. He has divided our nation, and only his non-partisan actions are going are going to mend it.

Well Ted, my thoughts on your response....

As far as the military I would be proud for my children to serve if that is their choice.  However I would be completely disgusted if they were sent into battle and remained in harm's way over lies, half-truths and the ego/personal vendetta of our president.

My views on abortion are very pro-choice.  IMO it is a decision for the woman to make not a bunch of men in our capital.  Whatever reasons the woman has is hers ands hers alone.  She will have to live with the decision for the rest of her life and then face the only being (God) who can judge her on whether it was a good decision or not.

Claiming that doctors are "mudering sadists" is your words not mine.  But when the consequences for incompetent or lazy work that can mean the difference between life and death are minimalized the only path left is for one to wonder if thay are not better off avoiding doctors rather than seeking them out.

Yes pollution and this administration's rollback of environmental protections concerns me greatly.  As well as their desire to open up natural forests and preserves to logging, mining & oil extraction.  I would hope that my children and grandchildren will have the chance to experience some of the great natural beauty that our country has to offer.

My education and professional level job are not threatened by exportation to the  third world.  And my kids education has also put them in a position to not be threatened also.  But I do thank you for your concern.  However I also realize that continued exportation of jobs and the related trade deficits for our consumer based nation is a bad thing in the long run.

And if you honestly believe cutting the revenues that our government is spending faster than they collect will "fix" the SS system then I fear that you are misguided.  The only way to "fix" the system is to separate it completely from our government's general fund & spend no more than is collected.  Unfortunately this fix will throw most Americans over the age of 35 into potential poverty.  Bush's answer is only sleight of hand parlor tricks to make you think he is doing something.

Actually I have driven two very gas efficient vehicles for the past five years.  They both run on 4 cylinder engines.  They also both accomodate my "fat San Antonio ass" very confortably.  My wife and I have recently discussed trading one in for a new hybrid vehicle.  Also I do not use gas powered lawn mower or trimmer.  I have no fear of gas prices rising to $4 per gallon as that is where they should be and have stayed artificially low due to our country forcing the oil producing nations to maintain high production and low prices.

And yes I do accept what the SLIM majority has chosen.  Bush will continue to ruin our nation over the next 4 years IMO and I accept that.  I do not have to be happy about it and have the right...until he takes it away....to bitch and complain all I want.  And make no mistake it was a slim majority.  Nixon had a 60% to 40% margin in his second term.  Raegan had a similar mandate.  Bush sneaked by a small majority.  The record number of total voters explains the fact that a 2% difference equals the "largest vote margin" in history.

And the fact that our terrorist enemy is still at large & filming commentary really points to Bush's failure in the war on terrorism as well as his misplaced priority in attacking Iraq.

As far as MY candidate is concerned....Kerry was NOT my candidate.  Except in the sense that anyone who ran against W would have gotten my vote.  I hated Bush as the governor of Texas due to his inept handling of the state government.  I was openly for him to be removed from Texas in 2000 in the hope that the check & balance system in Washington would keep him from running the federal government into the ground.  Unfortunately my hopes were misplaced.

You are incorrect. Bush agrees with abortion in cases of rape, incest, or danger to mom's life. WoW, you and I are on exactly the same page on this, so I don't want to argue with you about it. But I've heard Bush make the above statement many times. That is his position. The only thing I would add is cases where the fetus is so deformed that it won't be able to live even a subnormal life.

And besides, one man cannot change the Constitution and Supreme Court rulings that easy. Roe v. Wade has happened, and it's not going to be reversed any time soon. Any Constitutional amendments have to pass Congress and then be ratified by the people, and any Court appointments have to make it through the Senate. Not such an easy thing when one Senator can filibuster any judicial appointment.

Bush did not make those comments about abortion, two newly elected govs/sens made those comments.  I guess even Bush is also embarrised by those two.  One/Both were quoted as saying that there is NO reason for an abortion.  They also said gays and single un-wed mothers should not be allowed to teach in our public schools.  What a pair of religious lunies!  What next, not Jews or cripples allowed to teach either?

Bush is going to have to make good to the core that got him elected, white/male/evangelical americans.  Roe v Wade is a major concern seeing as possibly three supreme court positions will be up for replacement durring Bush next term.  Don't know how many of those three slots are pro/con the abortion issue so it may be a mute point but scary non the less.  Imagine three of religious right making policy for this nation!  Let the book and jew burning begin!

I don't think Bush has to make good with anybody. He's a second termer. He can do whatever he wants. And that's probably what will end up screwing his last few years up. Just like every other second-term president for the last 50 years.

Ted since you are defending YOUR president (and no, hes not my president 101 right or wrong) please explain why there is a huge issue with the artic ice caps on their way to vanishing by 2100 due to current practices yet the administration WILL NOT back down on their stance on regulation of certain gasses like CO2?  Everyone else who is part of the group of people who make up the committee all have all taken steps to try to slow that down.  The Bush administration will not even budge yet other senior government officials want to take some steps in the right  direction.  Again another example of him catering to the large corporations.

And I dont think some republicans realize (or actually care) that he is going to be able to appoint 3 LIFETIME positions in the Supreme Court.
