They tried to reunite the English Beat and it failed miserable. This whole season sucks, let's hope that THE MOTELS (yes, I'm proclaiming my age) gets REUNITED!

Show is fantastic.

I hadn't heard of this show.  Is it good because the bands are surprisingly good or can't get along?

I hear you on the age thing.  Your post reminded me I saw the Special Beat, (a mix of The English Beat and The Specials) 13 years ago!  No Doubt was the opening band and I was standing front and center for Gwen Stefani in a very revealing outfit.

It's good because most of these bands have been broken up for 20 years or more. VHI tracks then down individually, sticks a camera in their face while their at work or eating dinner somewhere, and tells them there there to get to their band for a one night only concert reunion in front of their fans.

Mind you, most of these guys haven't picked up an instrument in 20 years, and they have one day to practice and prepare. On top of that, they have to deal with the emotional issues of why they broke up, why they haven't spoken in 20 years, etc...

At the end of the show, they televise the concert, and most of them sound suprisingly good.  So far, they have featured reunions of:

The Motels.  English Beat.  Squeeze. Extreme. New Kids on the Block. Romeo Void. Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Kylmaxx, Dramarama, etc...

Mind you, not all the ex band mates are happy to see each other, and sometimes, the reunions are scrapped due to infighting or not wanting to appear on camera.

Highly recommend, best reality show on TV.
