I think the Lakers got better with the trade.  While I don't consider them a contendor anymore, kinda like the Kings, they should at least play hard every game and possibly make the playoffs.

I also thought the Lakers got the better of this.  Not in the sense of better players, but at least they were able to dump Foxs salary and get rid of cancer Payton.  Funny tho for all the bashing Pouton got he was right about Phildo needing to crap can the triangle vs Spurs when down 0-2.

Ainge helping them do this is simply the final straw in how far the Celts have sunk since 1986.  To the point of helping the Lakers thru a trade?  Well we'll have to see how the draft picks in this deal end up.  That may be the true tell.  Whats the deal now?  The Celts get the Lakers #1 next year unless its a lotto pick?

I dont really see how the Lakers got the better end of the deal unless of course Fox stays hurt and Payton goes down.  When Payton was running the break the Lakers were playing well.  When he got them to get away from the triangle they played well.  Since the triangle is gone I believe he would have played alot better, especially since they would be able to get up and down the court without worrying about getting Shaq tired.

Fox was a fan favorite in Boston.  They really wanted to keep him but he wanted to win a championship so he jumped town to get down with the Diesel.  Payton may have an attitude but he also did quite a bit off the court out here.  Something that went overlooked by alot of people.

Yes, I get to watch Floppy Divac and Chris Mihm dominate the post like they are the next comming of the Rockets dual big men, or even the twin towers part. 2  :alcohol:  :crazy:  :puke:

Payton had to go, simple as that.  The bloody nerve of that guy to exercise the 4+million option on his contract then demand the Lakers buy HIM out after Shaq is traded.  If we could have traded Payton for Celtic Ball Boy I would have been pleased.

We need more hustle guys and less prim-donna's, we all ready have the King, or Queen if you prefer, of prima-donna's in Kobe.
