Today's the day! Trade deadline...
« on: February 19, 2004, 10:11:24 AM »
I PREDICT[/size]

*The Spurs will not trade Malik.
*Kobe will be traded to the Rockets for Stevie Francis and Cotino Mobley.
* Dikembe Mutombo will be in a Spurs uniform.

Foresee the board lit up today, think there will be alot of activity in the NBA.

IMO Iverson & Francis will swap teams.  Unless the Spurs get involved in a 3 way deal....but then I think Van Gundy will ask for Ward to be part of the trade.

I would have to check out the salaries but Spurs give up Ward & Horry to Rockets, maybe Mercer to Sixers and get Iverson.  Sixers get Francis and give up maybe Snow to the Rockets also.

End Result:

Spurs get AI, give up Ward, Horry & Mercer

Rockets get Ward, Horry & Snow give up Francis (Houston has a trade exception form Rice deal)

Sixers get Francis & Mercer give up AI & Snow

But then I'm sure Randy will remind us all that this is just a crazy Spurs-lover pipe dream.  Too bad he has no sense of humor when it comes to anything related to the Spurs.....

I would hate to see merc go for stone hands motumbo.  I think ron needs more playing time to really up our offense, but you knnow Pop.  he would rather not let us play some real offense for the sake of lowering some of our defense.  sigh...
On the set of Walker Texas Ranger Chuck Norris brought a dying lamb back to life by nuzzling it with his beard. As the onlookers gathered, the lamb sprang to life. Chuck Norris then roundhouse kicked it, killing it instantly. The lesson? The good Chuck giveth, and the good Chuck, he taketh away.

Not that it's nearly as exciting as your trade possibilities, but the Jazz are talking to at least eight teams about trades.

The most credible rumors seem to involve Orlando with Giricek and/or Tyronne Lue and Utah's Arroyo or Collins, maybe even Stevenson. Riveting stuff this . . .
