NBA Trade Rumors
« on: February 17, 2004, 11:10:35 AM »
*Sportsradio 1130 AM Detroit reported that the Pistons and Rockets are talking about a trade that would bring Steve Francis to Detroit and send Chauncey Billups and Corliss Williamson to Houston.

*The deseret news has reported that Utah will use their ample cap room to lure Kobe away if he opts out of his contract next year. (http://deseretnews.com/dn/view/0,1249,590043402,00.html)

*The buzz inside Arco about a potential Doug Christie trade by the Feb. 19 deadline has become so persistent that the community's inseparable couple, initially dismissive of the possibility of leaving Sacramento, suspect that Kings officials are in the process of crafting a divorce agreement. Christie loves Sactown, and is not in favor of the move.

More rumors...tis the season:

Boston Globe:It will take a lot for the Celtics to find their way back to playoff contention. It will take even more if director of basketball operations Danny Ainge pulls off another trade before Thursday's deadline. The latest rumor making the rounds is Jones and Chris Mills to San Antonio for Malik Rose and possibly a draft pick.

NY Daily News:Thomas did not give a ringing endorsement of Mutombo when asked about his status as a Knick. With Houston's health's concerns, Thomas may attempt to trade Motumbo for a shooting guard. San Antonio's Ron Mercer, whom Thomas coached in Indiana, is available.

Washington Times:One possible deal has Toronto sending Michael Curry and Morris Peterson to Washington for Laettner.

Looks like the Blazers aren't done at least considering deals.  Supposedly there have been discussions with Boston involving Paul Pierce for Zach Randolph and Derek Anderson.  Another was some deal with Zach and Ray Allen.  Also lots of discussions with Dale Davis, one including Mo Peterson.
A third-rate mind is only happy when it is thinking with the majority. A second-rate mind is only happy when it is thinking with the minority. A first-rate mind is only happy when it is thinking.

A quotation is a handy thing to have about, saving one the trouble of thinking for oneself.

damn lurker got to the trade story first...
On the set of Walker Texas Ranger Chuck Norris brought a dying lamb back to life by nuzzling it with his beard. As the onlookers gathered, the lamb sprang to life. Chuck Norris then roundhouse kicked it, killing it instantly. The lesson? The good Chuck giveth, and the good Chuck, he taketh away.
