A published report in Monday morning's edition of the Chicago Tribune says the Spurs and four other teams may still be interested in swinging a deal for troubled forward Rasheed Wallace- who was recently traded to the Atlanta Hawks from the Portland Trail Blazers.
In the report sources tell Sam Smith that five teams are pushing to deal for Wallace. The Knicks, Rockets, Spurs, Mavericks and 76ers. A league loophole allows him to be dealt again before the upcoming trading deadline.
According to the report, but not confirmed by any official team sources, the Mavericks' offer includes Antawn Jamison, and the Spurs would give up a package centered around Rasho Nesterovic.
SpursReport is unable to find any basis in fact for the rumors, especially since Nesterovic has developed extremely well thus far this season under the guidance of Gregg Popovich and his staff. Still, other sources indicate that the Spurs are working the phones to see if any other pre-deadline deals might benefit the club.
Sheed playing for us? I dont know if that would be a good thing or not, better scoring and defense INside with Tim moving to the center spot, but can we depend on Sheed the way we depend on tim if we move him??? wow three more days to see what happens....
