Call the Vale police dept, Mavs were just robbed!!
« on: April 30, 2004, 12:15:42 AM »
Kings had a foul to give in the last minute so Peja took THREE of them.  The third was clearly on the shot attempt by Dirk yet NONE of them were called and it cost the Mavs the winning shot.

Great game until the last 3 minutes, alot of players started to pucker except for Dirk.  Mavs really killed themselves with stupid plays and brain farts by Walker and Finely.

Second round is going to be awesome!

Lets get it ON! (And I don't mean KG style either!)

No kidding.  With only 6 seconds on the clock upon inbounds yet Kings with a foul to give and Peja was obviously doing just that.   Didn't hear the entire post game interview with Adelman but did he not say that indeed their strategy was they wanted to (and did) intentionally foul?

Shouldn't have came down to the last shot.....they coughed the ball up themselves.   Nash must have mixed up winnin time with fishin time tonight.....he stunk it up at the end.

I got the distinct feeling that these refs had their own agenda, and since they toyed with the King's players just as badly as the Mavs, that last second non call probably should have been expected by both teams, but wasn't.

It was a joke of a non-call, though. Peja was slapping at Dirk for the whole six seconds.

Hands down the stupidest play of the game was Finley not stepping inbounds after inbounding the ball and costing the Mavs a possesion.  When I saw that play I was sure the Kings would win.  IMO that really cost the Mavs the game because it showed just how unprepared the Mavs were for TIGHT playoff games.

I'm really surprised you want to call the Vale police dept on anything -- you think they won't bungle this investigation any more than the one with Kobe?

I bet they will get some cool T-shirts to wear though!

On the replay, just to make it relevant to the rest of the calls made in this game, it looked like Finley stepped complete in bounds before catching the pass. Just saw the one replay from under the basket angle, but it showed his feet, though his hands were not completely clear.

Wish I'd been able to see the whole game, though.

Technically he did get both feet down inside the court before he caught the ball but you knew they would call that, not to mention he reacted to the ball being passed to him.  Had he just stepped inbounds as soon as he passed the ball it would have been a bucket or two FT's.  Finley just had this dumbfounded look about him after he inbounded, he only jumped inbounds once he realized the ball was comming to him.  Terrible!

My wife had actually taped the second half, expecting something else to be shown, and I got to see the last 24 minutes of that game. On the Finley play, he clear DID have a heal about four inches over the line, so we were both wrong and at least on that occasion, the refs got the call right.

IMO wether or not the refs got that call right was not the point.  To be in that position says alot about Finley and the Mavs.

Ah, yes. Why was Finley still standing out of bounds and why did he not expect to get the ball back when he did?

Point taken.
