Hey, it's the Christie's marriage and their life to live and it doesn't hurt anyone -- well, anyone who isn't a woman associated with the Kings organization and tries to talk to Dougie personally.  I find the whole Christie is a tough guy hilarious, JoMal -- of course, this is a little of a spin from my gradeschool days -- remember, "my dad can beat up your dad" -- in this case it's "my basketball player can beat up your basketball player."    I sounds like it gives you the warm fuzzies but it's actually quite funny.
Randy, if any of that was the point, your arguement would make a heck of a lot more sense.

The ONLY point is why anyone finds it necessary to make fun of someone in Christie's situation. Whether Doug is tough enough to deal with the challenges put on him on the court is not nearly as important as considering how insensitive people can be in mocking the man.

Even now, people like you don't take it seriously. Take a moment and consider how you might feel if you were Doug Christie and having that video shown to millions of people, just because of how you and your wife live their lives.

The REAL issue is the pettiness of people who once again have to make fun of someone considered a "GOOD" person, while at the same time defending a slime like Kobe Bryant.

Can you conprehend THAT, Randy.

Thanks for completely making my point for me, westkoast.

JoMal, if you're saying Kobe is slime because he committed adultery, then you must think 99.99% of NBA players are slime.  If that's the case, how can you support the product?

Additionally, there is a reason Christie's wife keeps him on a short leash.  Didn't he get caught cheating early in their relationship?  Once caught, Christie found God (which is often the case) and became the submissive husband that we've all grown to know and love.

Kobe + adultery = slime
Christie + adultery + God - testicles = loving husband

Okay, I get it.

JoMal, I have yet to read where the Christies have denied anything that has been written about their relationship.  They actually confirmed those reports in an interview last year where Doug basically said he was ok with it and it was only a problem with other people.

The fear is that somebody in that relationship is gonna have thier throat cut, their house burned down or the weenie removed in that relationship before it's all over.  Honestly if you where his friend/relative wouldn't you be worried?  I would.

msc, what you and westkoast are both ignoring is that you are REACTING to my using the word 'slime' in reference to Kobe Bryant and THAT has got you both all hot and bothered.

I disparaged your guy and you are immediately jumping in to defend him while still doing the same thing regarding Christie. This is not rocket science, at least I did not think it was, so don't make it look out to be.

Kobe and Doug are both adulterers.

Doug reforms and becomes in YOUR eyes a ball-less, whipped husband and "finds" religion, whatever that means.

Kobe is accused of rape and has to spent his off days during the playoffs - your Lakers' playoffs - in a Colorado courtroom and has to bribe his wife with million dollar gifts so she doesn't leave him in the middle of his crisis and somehow he is NOT a slime in your book.

My advice is for you to burn your book and go back to Dr. Seuss. The stories may make more sense to you now.

JoMal, nothing hot or bothered on my end, just a lot of procrastination at work.    Where do I defend Kobe?  I just find it interesting that you defend Christie while  calling Kobe slime.  They're both guilty of the same moral shortfall.  Based on your statements, they're both slime, right?

Kobe played the God trump card too, they're both guilty of that all too common maneuver.

Funny how some people become super-religous as soon as they get caught with their hand in the cookie jar.

You know at first I thought it was your way of trying to prove to Christie haters that they dont know him so they shouldnt make comments...........but bad example.  Apples and oranges IMO. Especially comming from someone who dislikes Kobe a great deal.

Actually I really don't like Shaq, but as far as I know he has not been charged with raping anyone, so he would not work in any conparison to Christie and his family values, so I went with the known commodity.

FYI, while Kobe has been a thoroughly annoying opposing player to the Kings, he has our admiration on the court and never shirks his basketball responsibilities. His relationship with his teammates and coaches are not our problems. Shaq is an underachiever who plays well depending on his motivation on any given day; acts like a bully; insults and belittles everyone else through his media whores, but won't even talk to the media if he has a bad day at the office.

If Shaq really had Bryant's work ethic, the Lakers would be looking at their SEVENTH championship. Thank God he doesn't like basketball much.

Word to that JoMal.  Well, they'd at least be looking at their SIXTH.  Very sad, but very true.

Fortunately for us Laker fans, Jerry Bus is well aware of this and will let the whole team walk before he'll let Kobe leave.
