Don't know what say about Joe Vancil's strange departure from rational thought in his post here, but anyone who doesn't think Kobe Bryant is a top 10 player, indeed, a top 5 player in the NBA, is simply not living in the real world.

James in time will replace one of these individuals, likely Shaq, Iverson could be well argued to belong there, Wade is right on the cusp, and Wallace should be close just on his mad defense.

At the very least, you don't know basketball if you don't put Kobe in the top 10, he plays both sides of the ball at MVP level, or at least Allstar level, there is a VERY short list of player who fit that category.

The thing is, you really should not compare centers to shooting guards, for instance, since you would not expect Duncan to set up for three-pointers all day long, or drive the lane to set up passes to the perimeter.

That's why the Diggler is such a unique player and a top 10 undisputed despite not playing defense.
