Popovitch has a local radio show, and one of the callers inquired about him going after Jason Kidd.  Pop said Jason Kidd was the best point guard in basketball. PERIOD.  He then referred to Tony Parker, and the caller asked if he considered Parker to be in the top ten.  He said NO WAY.  Tony is good when he wants to be, he has the potential to be one of the 10 best, but he's to young and inmature to be even considered.   :o

Maybe he's right. Never more evident than last night. Whenever Tony makes a bonehead play, Pop is the first to pull him from the lineup. So much for having confidence in your team!  I don't see Parker remaining with the Spurs next year.

Pop is moronic these statements and for his handling of Parker.
The kid is 20 years old, kicked booty in last years playoffs, esp against the Unbeatable Lakers.  What was Kobme doing when he was 20?  Every other age 20 great guard (with the exception of Magic Johnson.)

Now that his milk ticket Timmy Duncan is out, an injury I in no small part attribute to Zits refusal to rest him/ show confindence in other players including Parker, we'll really see Zits coaching abilities now.

I don't think there is any question that Pop is a good coach.  He's got two rings, and he's probably the best defensive coach in the NBA.  When your star goes down, you struggle.  Teams like LA just don't understand that! ;)

The balanced viewpoint is perhaps that Zit is indeed an outstanding Defensive coach and in his own way an outstanding team chemistry guy, at least last year for sure.  In his tenure it seems like a repeat theme is whenever things look like they could not get any worse for the Spurs, bam they go on a roll and comeback.  This year is no exception with the 17-2 streak and lately the wins over elites.  

If Dunker is out for more then a week, one small silver lining is he will be forced to use the other big men.  I still have not been told why that Sean guy from Austrailia or wherever is on the roster.  (The center, not the guard Shane Heal, is taking up space on the roster.  WOW that is the 6'10"-7" Euro looking guy we saw warming up at Staples.)

Pop you made your big man bed with Stiffarash and forcing Willis to get rusty on the bench, so lie in it and now lets see your magic.

What were you watching?  Parker had a HORRIBLE series against the Lakers (not all that good through most of the playoffs) -- it was Speedy and Jackson who nailed the Lakers coffin shut.  You need to go back and watch tapes -- Parker was not good in the series last year.
